L'appartamento era bellissimo, minimo e moderno, aveva tutto quello che ci serviva per il nostro soggiorno. L'unica questione era la comunicazione al check-out, la giovane ricevitrice di oltremare non poteva capire il mio indirizzo e il mio nome, lei non suonava molto addestrato in ospite e creava confusione con il mio profilo, raccogliendo un altro ospite.. Perché non avendo ricevuto formazione e personale professionale? Ci è voluto molto tempo per controllare.. La posizione era buona e rilassante, quindi probabilmente saremo di nuovo.

Arrivammo tardi a Bowral, e abbiamo assicurato l'ultima stanza disponibile. Ben e il personale erano grandi, e la stanza era moderna, pulita e confortevole. Il bagno era grande e luminoso con doppia doccia, c'era una macchina Nespresso e un pozzo, NetFlix e Stan, e il letto era perfetto. Situato nel centro della città, potevamo camminare per tutto e lasciare la macchina parcheggiata. Siamo stati sorpresi dalla bellezza della città e siamo stati intrighiti che essa abbia mantenuto la sua vibrazione originale. Il pranzo all'hotel è stato davvero buono e a buon prezzo, e se stai cercando il caffè, prova ”Precoce Birds” sulla strada principale all'altra estremità della città - è brillante!

The Pepper's resort have a certain reputation for quality and prestige but sadly this venue fell well short of that. Our room had the feel of a standard 3 star hotel. The lighting was very dark, the room small and generally the finishes appears more budget. The bed was comfortable and the complementary drinks and snack bars was a nice touch. Everything about this hotel seems run down. The chipped tables in the lounge area,sofa past their used by date, peeling paint as you look out the restuarant window as I looked past the jam jar ( not a trendy mason type jar) vase with a flower in it. Other table had vases. The gardens were lovely and in better repair than the building. I know this is a historic hotel and I can overlook the noisy floorboards and the battered skirting boards, these all add charm but basic maintenance seems to be an afterthought. I don't think I will be returning.

We stayed at the Gibraltar on a Saturday night to Sunday night. The room was the least expensive room but was spacious and luxurious. I didn't find it an issue to be overlooking the car park - it was quiet and our room had a thick hedge screening the room balcony from the car park and we had no issues with noise from there. We did have issues with noise from a group who congregated in the room next door and who kept us awake when we were trying to sleep, but this was dealt with very promptly by staff. The bed was very comfortable too. Check in was very simple, with staff friendly and helpful. We had booked into the restaurant for dinner on Saturday night and found it to be a very pleasant dining experience. It was quite pricey, but the food was delicious and was well worth it. We went to the bar next door after dinner - we had been hoping to get the jazz musician, who is apparently a regular there on Friday and Saturday nights, but he had called in sick or something, so perhaps next time ... We were surprised that the bar didn't offer hot drinks, but hubby enjoyed a beer. We didn't stay very long, because it was quite cold. Although the bar has an open fireplace, it's angled to face the dance floor area. The bulk of the seating is along one wall when you come in, so you miss out on any kind of warmth from the fire. This is an area of the hotel that could probably do with a re-vamp to make it more comfortable for patrons. The weak spot for this place is breakfast. It's buffet style on the weekends and a la carte on week days. However, what's on offer is the same and the selections are quite limited and not what you'd expect from a luxury hotel. Essentially it's all fried food - bacon, sausages, hash browns and baked beans. Plus a limited selection of pastries and I think I saw weat bix as well, plus some melon type fruit in glasses. There's no real catering for people who don't want a whole lot of fried food and no barista coffee or even hot chocolate. All of what's on offer you can get when you stay in a country pub. I was honestly surprised - I would have expected a lot better and to have more variety, especially considering the prices charged to stay here. I assume the hotel doesn't pay for a chef for breakfast, only for dinner. Next time we come, we won't pay to have breakfast here. Despite the meh breakfast experience it was a lovely stay and we would most definitely come back and stay again.

I have been coming here for many years, but no longer. Our room was poorly cleaned (a thick rim of dust around the carpet perimeter) and dreadfully tired. We were woken at night by an outside caller looking for accommodation: the phone system had gone haywire. When we mentioned the problem next morning, we were told 'many other guests had complained'. No apology, instead an implication we should take comfort from not being the only one put out. Dormie House used to be a guesthouse; it now operates as a golf clubhouse and function centre, and the staying guests are distinctly second-class citizens. Common areas, where it once had been possible to relax undisturbed in front of a warm fire, are now likely to be take over for some corporate event or other. The house guests are expected to retreat somewhere else. They won't have the choice of a game of snooker or table tennis - those amenities have been removed. There's really only the bar and the overpriced drinks. When Covid struck, Moss Vale Golf Club closed the clubhouse and moved activities to Dormie House. This, however, is now a permanent arrangement. Looking for someone to stay in Moss Vale? I suggest looking elsewhere.
