What a shambles! What is going on at Premier Inn City Centre Wolverhampton? On arrival, there were no staff on reception. Eventually a receptionist appeared with no sense of urgency. She couldn’t really be bothered. A very cold and unwelcoming check in. Not usual for this hotel. I was told that the restaurant was closed because they had no chef. How annoying. They insisted breakfast would be ok. Breakfast saw no chef again! He hadn’t turned up, again! The staff member trying to cook the breakfast wasn’t trained to do so; they were just trying to hold the fort as best they could. Was the food being cooked properly? What if they had an accident? Peps seemed to be the only one out the front. She was doing her best to take orders, clear tables, wait on etc. It was just too much for one person. Ridiculous. I’ve seen Peps when I’ve visited in the past. She’s usually singing away, bringing joy to the place but not this time. She was clearly frustrated by not being able to give her normal high standard of care and attention. Peps deserves a medal! She should be paid in gold bars for the way she carried the can for the chef and the manager, who had also failed to show up. So, what’s going on Premier Inn? 1. Lack of reception staff on arrival 2. Very poor welcome 3. No evening meal as there was no chef 4. No chef at breakfast; any cooked food available not cooked by qualified staff 5. Drab, tired rooms, desperately in need of refurb 6. Filthy reception entrance - the windows! I have stayed here many times. Will I stay again in the future? No. Would I recommend? No.
