Premier Inn Cirencester

We have stayed at this hotel and used it as a base for short breaks for the past few years. Unfortunately, this month’s visit was disappointing. I had read that some of the restaurants linked to Premier Inn had been closed to the public, but that was not made clear about this specific hotel. We arrived and expected to be able to go for a drink as we have done many times before. The person on reception said that the restaurant opening time was 6pm. (The signage saying cocktails from 5pm hasn’t been changed!) We then left and went to the Bees Knees instead (fully recommend) and spent our money there. And speaking to the staff there we are clearly not the first to have done this. We never eat dinner at the hotel as there’s a restaurant we enjoy visiting in the area. But when we arrived home, we saw a sign saying that the restaurant wouldn’t be open due to unforeseen circumstances. Hopefully those guests who were expecting food were happy to have McDonalds instead! The other issue was the temperature in the room. Air con is great but we shouldn’t need to rely on it overnight in the UK. The ability to open a window would be amazing. It is a decent hotel in a good location, but plan to eat and drink elsewhere!

Hotel was exactly as you would expect from a PI and the location was accessible and good for town. The Beefeater however was shocking, and probably the worse I have experiences from this chain. Save your money and go across the road.

The room was very good but there where it stops. It took 4 days to get a fresh towelThe bar opened when it felt like. You had to book a table to eat even with just 2 people in as the cook was on his own all week. The food was poor, bland overcooked. The breakfast was ok but there were 7 of us and nobody had the same cooked food at the buffet. The staff were very apologetic and friendly. The coffee machine was good.

No longer a Beefeater it was really shabby and the furniture sadly stained and some even ripped. The food was OK but they didn’t even have any tartare sauce to accompany the fish and chips. The continental breakfast selection was pretty poor too. All in all it needed refurbishing before it opened under it’s new management.

We had a few issues during our stay, we were put into a accessibility room due to the hotel being overbooked, this wasn't a major issue but the bed was 2 twin beds put together without a mattress topper so the first night was quite uncomfortable due to having a gap between the beds. The constant noise of people walking from the floor above kept us awake at night, the second night there was a family staying in the room above and they wouldn't stop walking/running for hours. We had asked for our room to be cleaned, we followed all their procedures for this to be done but when we came back later that evening the room hadn't been touched, the cleaning staff weren't working up to the standards you would expect from Premier Inn. There was hardly ever anyone at reception and when you press the bell to call a member of staff (several times) someone eventually showed up, the only 2 members of staff that really stepped up and resolved our problems the best that she could was Neve and her colleague (didn't know her name). I would of left on the second night if she hadn't of helped us. Overall this is a nice hotel but it's probably best for a one night stay due to its location as it is quite busy. Hopefully the communication between staff and the standards of the cleaning staff will improve.

Stayed for 2 nights in a Premier room. Room comfortable and quiet. Coffee machine leaked and was changed but new one also leaked. Ultimate Wifi would not work on the first night and only on one device on the second night. Bathroom cleaning was not great.

We have stayed here many times and it was great....alas. it is no longer. A complete shambles from start to finish, room not ready on arrival so waited 30 mins for cleaning, when we entered the room the bathroom had not been cleaned, no toilet paper, bed with the last guests sheets still on the bed and toenails on the carpet so we had to wait another 45 mins while it was sorted. Second night evening meal cancelled at short notice and refund given ,had to drive into town. Hotel staff were excellent but just not enough of them. My advice...if you must stay here, find somewhere else to eat, if this is the now model for Premier Inn they will go down hill fast.

Terrible Queuing for checking in and a man in the queue asked for the nearest toilet, he was advised by reception, "door on the left then 3rd door on the left" ,later we realised we were given that room.complained next morning early to be told yes that s the room we use as there is no toilet facilities by reception,then another member of staff advised us it wasn't that room number we heard! We e left as though we had lied, disgusting to imagine what their IP&C practices are, foul I would imagine Room no 5 for your pleasure

Cockroach in room 208, reported to manager. Trapped it under a glass, it had not been removed 24 hours later. Had to get the door key fob replaced FIVE times. All faulty. Tried calling hotel the previous day, wasted two hours on the phone with no one bothering to answer. Worst PI in the country?
