If you've ever dreamed of living off grid... If you have ever dreamed of living off grid while maintaining access to the internet and streaming services, you would love this cabin. It is located in the Mark Twain National Forest and sits alone in the trees a good distance from the paved roads. After booking we received a message with instructions to help clarify where GPS maps try to lead us on a wrong turn. The owner also suggested taking a screenshot of the instructions due to a lack of cell service as you get near the property. I'm glad I listened to her advice because we did lose phone service and our access to online maps. We arrived after dark and I'm not gonna lie, it was a little creepy to drive down the narrow gravel road/driveway to get to the cottage. It gets very dark in the forest at night and the cabin sits in a small clearing with trees all around it. In the daytime, even in February, it was beautiful and so very peaceful. The cabin has WiFi and the television has Roku so you can log in to all your favorite streaming services. There is a fire pit with chairs positioned around it that was stacked with wood to burn, as well as a beanbag toss set which could easily fill the evening hours with unplugged entertainment. The cabin has a front porch as well as a back deck with great seating to enjoy the forest views. The furniture was well maintained and the bed was comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with all of the gadgets and utensils necessary. We would stay here again.
