Central Park Motor Lodge

I was put into Room 101 - this faced straight onto Riccarton Road, which is one very busy road all through the day and night. Also a Vap shop nearby and several eating places. No windows are double glazed so the ghastly traffic and also people late at night speaking loudly, including people staying at the Lodge. The room was very basic and not cleaned while staying for the few days.

Booked for 5 adults, get to Central Park Motor Lodge, told oh that's a problem, I explained, we booked for adults, this was agreed, took the money, then took us to a room with two double beds ,asked where does the 5th stay, next an old trundle bed rolled in from the 50s, The room absolutely stunk of rotten infected feet,followed by the most terrible smell of sweaty body odor. The carpet was filthy, stained and sticky to walk on , all this followed up with bed mattress that sunk to the-floor and broken sofa lounge that we were told not to use. After feeling not well in a few minutes we opened all the windows and went to get air sanitizer .freshener, come back one hour later, still not fit for habitation, called the manager up, . He said oh yes it is smelly and dirty, i will talk to the cleaner, this was now 7:15pm, I asked for refund as this is not clean and healthy to stay, he disappeared , went to office no one in sight. Bad, very bad and the worst place I have ever seen to be expected to pay for,let alone sleep in. Very Poor Service Even worse conditions. We were very lucky to get another place, a beautiful place for my family to stay in on such short notice.

The unit was spotlessly clean, bed was incredibly comfortable & the customer service was beyond exceptional! Gary who runs the place was so incredibly kind & caring & helpful (I had medical emergency which was the reason to be in CHC) and his friendly demeanour & willingness to help really put me at ease! I will definitely stay again! Superior location too with eateries & convenience stores 1-2min walk away. Just can’t fault this place & great value!
