From the moment you arrive you feel right at home. The staff are warm and welcoming. The location is superb overlooking the Chobe River and flood plains. The entrance to Chobe National Park is only 10 minutes away. Once checked in you will be taken to your own private cottage which is fully equipped and you will want for nothing. Each and every member of staff is well trained and nothing is too difficult. The safari guides are brilliant and love to joke around. The chefs provide so much very tasty food which is difficult to turn down. Management run a very smooth operation. Everything just happens as it should. Chobe Park is a fantastic place to watch elephant, buffalo, giraffe, buck, lions, leopards, hippos and crocodiles. The bird life is prolific. Our fourth trip to Africa but our first to Botswana. We are truly impressed.

Where can I begin. The most magical beautful place in Chobe. All the staff including the guides cooks bar staff and security want you to have the best time. I didn’t want to leave after 4 memorable days in heaven. I cried many times at the experiences. I did not want to leave. Will go back in a heart beat. Prides of lions. 60 elephants playing in the water. A cheetah sitting on a log looking g right at me. Fish Eagles, hippo, majestic giraffe, herds of running zebra. The leopard evaded us but so many beautiful memories.

Me and my partner have just spent 3days at the lodge. It was one of the most beautiful places we’ve stayed at. The first thing the staff greet you with on arrival is welcome home. On the very first afternoon we went on our first drive and spotted many animals, the guides are really good and knowledgeable. I would recommend this as a location to stay.

We had the most wonderful time at Muchenje Safari Lodge celebrating our honeymoon - the team made the experience really special for our 3 nights, with a private dinner set up for us one evening. The lodges are luxurious and clean with beautiful balconies overlooking the Chobe River Plains with undisturbed views to Namibia. The safari vehicles are comfortable, state of the art Land Cruisers and the safari guides are some of the best; having grown up locally and knowing the park like the back of their hand. Philly was excellent - always the first to find the animals. We saw 4 out of big 5 (no Rhino’s in Chobe!) Muchenje is a quieter side of the national park - meaning you have less jeeps / traffic and more animals to yourself! The team delivered exceptional service including delicious home cooked meals and a communal dining set up with other guests and guides. This lodge is an absolute must and we could not recommend it more! Special thanks to: - Evelyn and Mrs G for running the show - Peter and TiTi for their warm welcome - Philly for excellent game drives - Brian and Muller for always keeping us topped up with drinks! - Security staff for keeping us safe at night! We stayed at Muchenje Safari Lodge on the Chobe Forest Reserve October 2025. The lodge is very well managed and organised with a team of highly professional, enthusiastic staff. The welcome is very warm and genuine and we were well looked after throughout our 4 night stay. The chef and all the staff went the extra mile to help my husband celebrate his 80th birthday whilst we were there. Including great african dancing & singing. We enjoyed both the safari drives around the lodge and into the National Park and had a great wildlife experience thanks to our very capable guide, GB. He was very helpful and caring towards my husband, who has some mobility issues and did everything possible to make both the jeep and the boat accessible for us. We have two highlights. Firstly the daily boat trips we took along the Chobe River to see the stunning elephants, other animals and birdlife, and secondly, just to sit on our veranda and look out over the peaceful river below with its many fabulous visitors. We could happily spend 7-9 nights here as a holiday! Great lodge.

Fabulous view from lovely rooms with attentive and knowledgable staff. The whole experience is personalised and welcoming. The food is plentiful and amazing. The safaris come thick and fast and are never the same. The on-water safari was another wow experience.

I wish I could give 10 stars because this place is a perfect 10!! The accommodations were comfortable with beautifully decorated rooms. The meals were perfectly curated. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were exceptional. The entire staff was so accommodating and offered the best hospitality with a smile. They catered to our every need and really made us feel welcome. The safari experience and the guides were phenomenal. Our guide’s name was Tips, and he was so knowledgeable and full of information that added so much substance to the drive and overall experience. We were so appreciative of his patience and talent. I highly recommended this lodge. I can’t wait to go back.

We had an outstanding stop here on our Safari. The staff are on another level and the general manager was an example of how a manager should be managing people. We had shared dining experiences and the food was of a very good standard. Rooms very well appointed and are well maintained. The guides are very good, very knowledgeable and very helpful. The trips we did were wonderful and we saw Elephants galore, watching them cross the river was very emotional. All staff in this hotel are exceptional and I wouldn’t hesitate in staying here again.

We had a marvellous couple of nights at this lodge. Accommodation is excellent and, perched on the top of a hill, has stunning views down to the Chobe River and the masses of game. We were treated more like friends than guests by the wonderful staff. Our room was very comfortable with all the amenities we needed. The food was of the highest standard, and provided a great introduction to local cuisine. Our knowledgeable and friendly guide, KB, took us on some great day and night game drives along the edge of the Chobe river, the sight of a leopard up a tree guarding its kill was a highlight. The river boat trip takes you up close and personal with hippos, crocodiles and the many elephants that live in the park. The guides go out of their way to ensure you get the best animal experience, which is what safaris are all about. Highly recommended.
