Cotswold House Hotel and Spa - "A Bespoke Hotel"

Location is perfect, staff polite and helpful. Rooms are very tired and poorly maintained will many areas requiring attention and not reflective of the room rate. Communal areas also tired with thread bare carpets that were also dirty and dusty. As we arrived in the hallway we were greeted with a bucket catching drips from the ceiling. Not a good first impression. More attention to detail required and a good deepclean. Food was good but the GF offering of poor quality 😕 On checkout an automatic gratuity was added which we removed as we felt the quality of the room was poor for the price point. We mentioned the room condition and the member of staff replied that they were aware and had received complaints. So either lower the price or address the issues.

The main level of the hotel is lovely, however our room needed some updating. The outside of the shower was crumbling and the room was either too cold or too hot. The staff was so nice and offered blankets but by the next day the radiator was working, too well.

Right from our very first meeting at Cotswold House Hotel, we knew that it was the right wedding venue for us. Mandy, our coordinator, arrived armed with a printed brochure and a plethora of information. She was organised and thorough throughout the whole planning process, meeting with us as regularly as we wanted, and always being available by email to answer my many questions. She also was able to recommend fantastic local suppliers, like The Bay Tree florist. On the day, the staff were wonderful, even making sure we got to eat the canapés at the drinks reception after our formal photos were complete. So many of our guests commented on the food, saying it was the best wedding food they had ever had! The venue itself is stunning, and fully air-conditioned - which was particularly important for us during an August heat wave. The gardens are wonderful, especially for a summer wedding. We had our ceremony in The Fig, which was a selling point for me. I loved the natural light from the windows overlooking the garden, and the Georgian feel of the room. We then had our breakfast and reception in The Montrose Suite, which was the perfect size for our 60 guests. We stayed in one of the hot tub suites, which was ideal for bridal preparations, there was so much room downstairs for hair, makeup, and bridesmaids. I'm so glad we chose Cotswold House Hotel for our wedding venue, it could not have been more perfect. We have the best memories, and photos from the day!

Lovely hotel with beautiful rooms, spa and gardens. Very friendly staff. Big comfortable beds. Bathrooms are really nice and the food was excellent. The Bistro bar did excellent cocktails with great service. Overall a very nice hotel which we will visit again.

Stayed here for two nights with some friends while visiting the Cotswolds for a wedding. There were three of us in a twin room as the hotel was able to provide an extra bed which was really helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. Good supply of tea, coffee, biscuits! The breakfasts were amazing! Very high quality and a good amount of choice. The bistro was also a nice setting for a drink and light bites - cocktails were 10/10! It was lovely to make use of the spa too - you have to book a slot which I wasn’t aware of but luckily staff at reception were able to do this for me. A really nice stay.

Specifically booked this hotel due to the fact it advertised EV charging facilities but on arrival I was told they weren’t available as they were being replaced. Although I expressed my dissatisfaction I was merely pointed to a charger at a local wedding venue to use instead which I did go to but was a slow charger so gave up as I’d have been there all day. Reception did nothing my way of an apology. Had the lack of EV charger been communicated to me I’d have cancelled my booking and charged my car en route. The room was tiny, the shower possibly the smallest I’ve ever seen. For the price paid this was not value for money.

Booked as special treat for my wife’s 60th and made it known at time of booking. Very disappointed with the whole experience We stayed in Loughborough a garden cottage with hot tub, the room and facilities were of a very poor standard. The downstairs of the cottage was of no use at all as all the facilities are upstairs like the tea/ coffee making facility, which by the way is cramped and hard use without knocking your head. The bathroom has no storage for toiletries and the toilet seat you had to hold up when using the toilet. The front door to the cottage didn’t seem secure and the one key fits all system means anyone could get in to your room. Outside in the garden we couldn’t get to the sun loungers as the garden was overgrown, albeit the hot was a bonus. At no time during the stay did anyone mention my wife’s birthday. We won’t be rushing back. From here we booked a last minute stay in Stratford WOW what a difference, glass of bubbly on arrival and a room upgrade.

Beautiful traditional cotswold stone building which has been sympathetically decorated. Arrived at the hotel from the rear as we used the on site parking. Lovely walk down the path through the well looked after gardens with great spots to sit and enjoy the peace and quiet in the sunshine. Reception is simply decorated and a lovely area to sit and read/chill. Beautifully decorated formal restaurant with lovely soft furnishings and views to the front of the hotel and to the back towards the garden - there is also a more modern wine bar area to the other side of the hotel. Our room was in the main building on the first floor - room 14. Room was good size, large window looking out over a small courtyard at the back of the hotel - room was spotlessly clean, good sized bathroom with bath/shower. It had the usual tea/coffee/biscuits tray and complimentary toiletries. The furniture was very worn and tired, the decor was dated and didn't seem to match (red valance sheet around the base of the bed !), chips on the walls, badly painted areas in the bathroom and bathroom cupboard not closing properly and well worn inside. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay but I think that the price we paid (nearly £400 for 2 nights B&B) was a bit steep - I was expecting a little more luxury in the room. We would like to thank the staff for the anniversary card in our room (celebrating our 40th anniversary) which was a nice touch. Thanks to all the staff who were pleasant and professional at all times
