El hotel perfecto pero alrededor del hotel no hay nada. Es para ir a hacer vida de hotel o moverte continuamente con el coche

The hotel is very clean and pools and slides are good for the kids. Food is not 4 star quality at all. Entertainment starts very late and is more for the Spanish than English guests. To be honest the most staff do not understand English and it’s apparent we are not particularly welcome this hotel is more for Spanish people. DO NOT make our mistake and spend €50 on pool inflatables in the hotel shop to then be told from the life guards they are not allowed in the hotel pool. Jet 2 rep advised me to request a refund for me to be told by the rude shop assistant it’s not her problem after an google translate battle and reception staff telling me they can’t help. I explained they should at-least put a sign up saying they cannot be used in the hotel pool. If you plan on things to do there is nothing but the beach unless you go to Cadiz or saville as rota itself nothing was open and cost €50 in taxi there and back. All in all I would not recommend this hotel for English families.

I stayed at this hotel with my two children, and I’d like to share my experience. Overall, the "all-inclusive" offer doesn’t mean much — only a limited selection of drinks is included, and even children’s ice cream has to be paid for if you want anything beyond the very basic options. The attitude from the staff was quite surprising — it felt like British guests weren’t particularly welcome. However, I would like to give a special thanks to the bartenders, who were at least friendly and communicative. Children’s entertainment was repetitive and very limited — just five songs and that’s it for the evening. After that, the entertainment was clearly targeted at the older generation, which made up a large portion of the guests. On a positive note, the hotel was very clean, and our room was cleaned daily. The location is excellent, with the sea just a few steps away from the hotel.great outdoor pool,beautiful natural around the hotel. Overall, I don't believe this hotel deserves a 4-star rating, and I wouldn’t choose to return.

We visited as two British family’s that live in Spain, we holiday along this coast regularly, I’d say the other two big hotels in ballena are better but for the price we paid it was good value. We arrived on a Saturday it was soo busy no sunbeds, for the size of the hotel definitely not enough loungers and the pool area feels very small, and I’m guessing it wasn’t even completely full. By Monday it was empty but this meant they closed the pool bar, and it worked out quicker to walk out to the chiri on the beach then the only bar open at the very front of the hotel. Lots of barking dogs in the hall ways and while trying chill on the terrace. Hotel is clean but very dated especially the bathrooms, the actual sleeping area has had a renovation, bathrooms in reception are soo old and smelly. Food was ok always something to eat at breakfast and evenings but low quality and nothing for children if they are fussy. No snack bar for all inclusive. Certain Crisps are included in all inclusive as are olives and a few little salads. All the alcohol was branded, self serve wine, beer and soft drinks with meals. 2 mins from the beach, very quiet resort and a popular destination for Spanish tourists. The average age of visitors at this hotel was 65. Our kids enjoyed the games with the animation in the afternoons, the pools were too cold to use still in mid May, slide area only open for certain times and you get kicked out at 3pm when they close then cannot find a lounger at the other pool. The sports bar is a great addition but only open in the evenings at weekends, and didn’t play any music lacked atmosphere, same around the pool. The landscaping around the pool is lovely, id visit again for the right price but I prefer best ballena and aqua fun much more!!

Absolutely beautiful hotel . All staff in every area Bar/Life guards/waiters/reception/cleaners was so friendly and helpful . The actual hotel its self is stunning and so clean . We were Half board but as soon as we arrived we upgraded to All inclusive which was worth it ( FYI there is 3 levels of AI to which give you different levels . We had Premium AI so worth it.) Food is plentiful and very tasty . Pooll area so pretty and also a. Bonus of a small aqua park on site . Rooms were beautiful spacious and the best beds I’ve ever slept in We didn’t leave the hotel for our whole 5 day trip accept for 2 hours at the beach which is 2 minutes walk away . Because we had everything thing we wanted on site. This is mainly Spanish visitors at this hotel but me and my friend really liked this as it gave it an authentic feel and to be honest everyone was kind and lovely. I have to say the animation team was all great we took part in riffel shooting and Aqua dance everyday which was fun. Big shout to the life guards especially Miguel helpful and friendly. And the bar staff helpful with translation and Agustova ( I think that’s how you pronounce his name ) on pouring us wonderful new tasting drinks. All in all to us 5 STARS every were and YES I would come back . Thank you Hotel PLAYABELLENA for having us !

Great all-inclusive type hotel/resort. Plenty to do without the need to leave the premises. Good food and very friendly staff. Our stay was out of season so the streets around us were empty (this hotel seemed to be the busiest in the area, but not overcrowded) and not much to do, still, shops were 20min walk, beach 5min and with electric scooters to rent everywhere it could be even faster. Only minus is the the location is far from bigger cities probably not ideal if you want to see the area if not in full season (when this place must be buzzing) as it's at least 30min by car to Cadiz (stunning) and 2h to Seville. West coast so every ocean sunset is magical. Our stay was 22-29.10 and only got 1 day of rain, outside pools open, jacuzzi heated, slides open specific hours but indoor pool good too if you not so lucky with the weather, although could be bit too busy if hotel has more guests. All in all, recommend this place
