Travelodge Chelmsford

Cheap and nasty unfortunately. Just about palettable for one night but unless you are desperate, go elsewhere. The room was pretty dirty and had stains etc. Not good enough

We only stayed one night and despite low ratings in the reviews ,we found this travelodge to be clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful and location was good. A socket by the bed and larger bedside shelves would have been good, but we were given an extension lead which was helpful. We had to pay for parking which was annoying and despite having a Blue Badge for our disabled daughter there was no concession. However this didn’t spoil our stay.

Stayed for 2 nights for a graduation ceremony. Staff were super friendly and check-in was very flexible. Rooms did have a funny smell , but left the window open and it was fine after that. Easy parking. Close enough to center to walk if we wanted.

Stayed here a few weeks back with my family and couldn’t fault it. Breakfast and dinner was lovely and the staff was so friendly. I would Recommend this hotel to people. It’s not too expensive either for food or the room so ideal for bigger groups

I stayed here for a night out with old uni mates and it panned out to be in the perfect location for a night out in town. I didn't need to get a cab so it worked out to be a cheaper night out than I was expecting. I only had a one main issue which was that there wasn’t a TV remote in the room and had to go back and forth with the reception team to sort it out. As one was given that didn’t have any Working batteries, Another which didn’t work at all with new batteries in it and then finally the manager kindly said for me to wait in my room and he’ll sort it out for me which I really appreciated. However, this exchanged did make me late to getting myself sorted so I ended up having to rush, which is a little bit frustrating as I arrived in plenty of time beforehand. I also noticed that the cutlery down at breakfast wasn’t the cleanest. I usually crack on with this kind of stuff as I work in hospitality but the cutlery had a lot of dried food on it. I did manage to find a set that was clean enough But I had to take that from another table that was laid out. This was a little bit of putting hangover lol. Breakfast was good though !
