I definitely would not recommend this property. It is extremely dated lacks outlined in RCI’s directory during winter months. You have to drive through acres of mobile homes and trailers before you get to the property which I did not expect. RCI only guarantees the unit size…nothing else. The lack of or non working amenities outlined in the RCI directory are not their responsibility. Issues with bugs…are of no concern to RCI.

My family enjoyed our stay at the Wilderness at Presidential Resort. However, we were highly disappointed with the appearance of the grounds. The view leading to our log cabin units at Wilderness at Presidential Resort is uninviting. There were many old and unkept RVs in the front part of the resort, and it wasn't very encouraging. Although we felt better once we got past that section, we still would like to see improvements in the appearance as its current look does not represent the Wilderness at Presidential Resort well. Overall, we enjoyed our stay for a winter vacation, and the staff were great. However, we would like to visit during the summer months for comparison. If we decide to visit again soon, we would appreciate improvements in the resort's appearance.

Resort was very quiet since this was off season. Cabin was very clean, the kitchen had enough cooking utensils, minimal number of pots and pans. Small oven and stove top, microwave, toaster, coffeemaker and electric can opener provided. The staff did inform us if we had any special cooking to bring our own cookware. Short distance to the Town Center Mall and other historic landmarks. Variety grocery stores near resort and lots of choices for restaurants. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay during the Christmas holidays.

Overall out stay was just what we needed, very quiet, peaceful location. Stayed during an off season so most of the amenities were closed for the season and the campsites were empty with the exception of the year-round residents. Our cabin backed to the woods and set back from others so it was very nice and quiet. Staff is very friendly and respond to any issues promptly, cabin was updated compared to the pictures provided online, our 2 bedroom cabin had 2 queen size beds, it would be nice to have one room with a king size though. Love how our cabin had bedroom/bath on first floor and second bedroom/bath on second floor, this is nice for people who have trouble with stairs. Many of the cabins also have ADA ramps leading onto the porch, picnic tables and 2 nice size rocking chairs on porches with a gas grill. Resort is short drive to shopping centers, restaurants, downtown Fredericksburg, museums, state parks and civil war sites. We will definitely be returning.

Wonderful property with individual cabins. Resort has a lot of amenities. Visited in November, which is a slower time of year for this property. We visited a few national parks while in the area. Would recommend visiting Mount Vernon. We would visit this resort in the future.

Enjoyed the civil war sites that were very close by. Nice location and within driving distance of most of the museums and sites.

We visited the first weekend of November with two families. We stayed in two simple but lovely cabins right next to each. We took full advantage of the amenities--fishing, aqua trike, basketball, games, ice skating, mini golf, indoor pool, disc golf, tennis courts, maybe more?! The staff were all lovely, the place was well maintained, and the woods were beautiful and peaceful. We will definitely return!

This RV park should rate a higher review, however the downsides keep it low. Parts of the park are nice such as the indoor heated pool. But one problem was the terrible potholes throughout the park which make getting through with an RV difficult. The first spot we were assigned did not have the electric box on the correct side and our usual cord didn't reach it so we had to move to a different site. Some lots are reservable for travelers but others are owned by year round/season folks. Some of those units were very nice and the lots were well kept. Others were occupied by units that looked like they had been parked there and abandoned. Some were sitting with flat tires, with tarps over the roof, covered with moss and one is sitting there with a large tree on top of it. See pictures I attached. Apparently the park owners do not have standards that need to be kept, otherwise some of these units would have been kicked out.

This place needs a lot of upgrading and upkeep. The rooms are so dark that it makes it difficult to read.
