Cozy solar powered off-grid log cabin with spectacular beams and ridgepole that is nestled in a secluded forest near the scenic Sprague River. This cabin is located in a tranquil setting with a large covered porch where you can sit and relax for hours on end. The cabin sits on 1.5 acres of beautiful forested land. The rear property line is the Fremont Winema National Forest so there are thousands of acres available for fun activities like hiking, mountain biking, target shooting, and bird watching. We love to swim and fish in the river which is only about a half mile walk from the cabin.There are so many fun things to do at the cabin! A horseshoe pit, a hammock area, a three hole disc golf course, a 50 ft zip line for the kids, a rubber axe trowing game (everyone loves), a gas BBQ, and a picnic table. In the loft, there are tons of games to play!Located only 45 minutes from Crater Lake, only 37 minutes from Spring Creek, only 26 minutes from the KLA-MO-YA casino, and 51 minutes from Klamath Falls. ** CELL PHONE SERVICE NOTICE: Cell phone service is limited but the owners are able to stream and cast to the TV in the loft using a Samsung phone on the Verizon network. We have been informed that T-Mobile doesn't work at the cabin but that it does work at the mailboxes on Sprague River Road. We can't confirm this though. We're not sure about other carriers.*** WI-FI NOTICE: There isn't any WiFi at the cabin. This is our place to disconnect from technology and reconnect with each other. **** OFF-GRID NOTICE: This cabin is off-grid. This means that it is powered by solar panels that charge house batteries. There is an automated backup generator that will start and stop automatically if there isn't enough sun to keep the batteries charged. It's not the place to charge your electric vehicle or use devices that use a lot of electricity such as crock-pots or electric blankets. The solar panels won't be able to keep up with that kind of a load and the generator will have to run constantly. And, during the winter, this home is also only 10 miles from Willamette Pass Ski Resort, which makes it possible to take ski breaks or grab lunch back at the house, during a long day at the mountain.The home layout includes: three bedrooms (2 queen and 1 King), three full bathrooms, a large finished basement with 2 sturdy bunk beds (4 twin beds total), which can sleep up to 10 people comfortably in beds. There is also an inflatable queen mattress that can be used to sleep additional people and a foldable crib for infants.Other home features include: high speed Starlink internet, foosball table, propane fireplace, barbecue, large deck off the dining room, four bicycles, two car garage, DVD player and many DVD movies, and new stove/range. Pet-friendly!Snowmobile and ATV trails take off from the neighborhood giving you access to hundreds of miles for riding and the world famous Pacific Crest Trail for hiking is 10 minutes away. Please keep this in mind if you intend to bring a trailer. We would only recommend trailers smaller than 10 feet, like a two place snowmobile trailer or small fishing boat. Parking on the road is not allowed. One possibility is to park larger trailers at Crescent or Odell Lakes.* Winter Parking: This area gets LOTS of snow in the winter. We do our best to keep the driveway plowed in the winter, but it snows often and even if the driveway was plowed, you could still get stuck. For this reason, we have the plow driver widen the road at the top of the driveway to allow for parking of 2-3 vehicles if you don’t feel good about going down the driveway (just make sure you are entirely off of the road with your car(s). You can then use the "luggage sled" found on the front porch in the winter to pull your luggage into the house, if you wish. We also highly recommend you have tire chains for your vehicle.* We do have Google Nest doorbell at the front door to monitor the check-in and check-out process. * We do allow up to two dogs, but we charge an additional $50 pet stay (not per day or per dog) to assist with the extra cleaning. The main level offers the kitchen, dining room, half bath, living room with gas fireplace, washer/dryer, and the master bedroom with a full bath attached! There is also a wrap around porch for enjoying awe inspiring sunsets and Mountain Views!Upstairs has a spacious loft with comfy couches and a chair and a half! A large shelf with games & puzzles, a DVD/blue ray tower with many options to choose from. This area also has a TV and a closet with toys for kids to enjoy! The views from the loft are breathtaking. There is a full bath as well as two bedrooms upstairs. One bedroom has a king size bed and direct access into the hall bath, the other bedroom has two sets of twin log bunk beds (no adults on top bunks please)! All of our beds have fresh cotton sheets and blankets/quilts. You can also find extra pillows in each closet. Both bath towels and lake towels are provided. The kitchen is fully stocked for cooking & meal preparation! It includes all appliances to make your stay as comfy as possible (keurig, crockpot, toaster, griddle, toaster oven, gas range, microwave, dishwasher, and so much more). There are multiple open cabinets for food storage! The cabin has Yellowknife wireless internet. You will have no issues streaming Netflix, browsing the web, checking mail, etc.Exterior of property is monitored by security cameras and near by property care taker. NO parties allowed on the property. There is NO SMOKING & NO PETS ALLOWED at our cabin as we have children that have severe allergies, please be respectful and follow this rule! All ATV and recreational vehicle activities are strictly prohibited on the property except for the driveway, and the neighborhood ATV trails. When you’re ready to head outside, be sure to check out our informational binder full of ideas for hikes, trail riding, boating, swimming at the lake, skiing/snowboarding, snowshoeing, and snowmobile trails in the winter! Firewood is included with your rental for the outdoor fire pits. - Driveway Information -We recommend all wheel drive or a 4x4 vehicle to get to the top of the driveway. This is for both summer and winter. It can be very slick in the winter even though the driveway is snow plowed on a regular basis and before your check- in time. If for some reason you can't make it up the driveway you can park at the bottom (not on the road) and walk up to the cabin. - The Location -Crescent Lake is one of Oregons hidden gems! There are multiple lakes, countless mountain hikes, Willamette Ski Pass resort, Crescent Creek, a handful of lodges, and Salt Creek Falls all less than 30 minutes away!The north entrance to Crater Lake is about 55min away in the summer and in the winter can be accessed via the south and west entrances. We enjoy going there for a quick day trip!
