Enjoy this newly renovated 100-year-old log cabin in the heart of Cook Forest. With the ability to sleep 6 and a full bathroom, this is a gem just minutes away from all the best hiking + river activities. The new kitchen makes "roughing it" a little more manageable, while the wrap-around porch, WiFi, and private yard make it easy to stay on the property if you don't feel like going out. Come enjoy our little family getaway spot with yours. The original log cabin features a one-wall kitchen, dining table, sleeper couch, wood-burning fireplace, 50" TV, a nook with a small rocking chair, and a loft with 2 full-size beds underneath and 2 full mattresses in the loft. A suite built off of the main room includes a full bathroom and a queen-size bed, with a door to the backyard. Red Fox Cabin sits right on Rt 36, the main road through Cook Forest. Located in the center of Cook Forest, you don't have to travel far to enjoy the trails, river, sights, and more. Being situated close to the road might not be the most idyllic setting, but is extremely convenient, and our modern design and comforts will make your stay a memorable one! Very private and secluded with natures beauty to relax with. Watching the birds fly as you look down at them is unique. The big sky giving you some breath taking views. 60 acres to hike and see the wildlife not to mention some of the best sunsets that you’ll ever seeGuest accessPlenty of space for parking or tents. Also upon request a visit to the horse barn for a close up encounter with the horses for those that may be interestedOther things to noteIt is recommended that guests bring drinking water. The lane to the cabin is steep and a little bumpy so vehicle ground clearance is recommended. During the winter months 4 wheel drive may be necessary. As we have in a handful of times we offer parking and assistance to get to the cabin in extreme cases at no extra charge. Beds upstairs are divided by a partition wall. Rental can be seen by going on Cook forest Vacation Bureau. Rental is called Rivers Edge Cottage. Renters only need their personal items such as towels. Right on the Clarion riverenjoying seasonal activities such as hiking, horseback riding, swimming, fishing, canoeing, hunting, nature watching and exploring, River’s Edge has plenty of room inside or out to just relax and unwind.
