My cabin rental is from mid April. till end of October. Enjoy a quiet neighborhood in the country. If you are a camper, you're going to love it. listen to the tree frogs, crickets, and birds. Expect country things, an ant, fly, bee,wasp or an occasional mouse. I do my best to keep them away. However, a field mouse might venture into the bathhouse. My point. you're in the country, don't expect to find a Jacuzzi or hot tub. Do expect to find a clean shower and clawfoot tub and clean chemical commode. You'll also find sweet smelling sheets and blankets on your bed. I have recently updated my pet rules. I will allow one non shedding dog. please keep it crated while you're away at the ARK.My cabin rents for $85 per night, plus taxes.Attention: PLEASE READ!!! Recently, Guest did not stay, after realizing i have a CHEMICAL COMMODE. These are found on RVs and big boats. I keep it sanitary, cleaning with Lysol and other sanitary products. The majority of my guests have no problem, especially guests that are campers, and sleep in tents. It has fireplace and outdoor furniture. and firepit Great place for children to run and play. My cabin has window AC plus a circulating fan. Plus 3 electric heaters to keep cabin and bathhouse warm and cozy. My cabin Has a kitchenette, 2 burner hotplate, pots and pans, refrigerator, microwave. I'm 15 minutes from the ARK. Guests love the country atmosphere. Please read ALL!! descriptions and look at all pictures. My cabin has ONE bed in loft and ONE Queen SOFABED downstairs. Please note!! Stairs are STEEP going to loft bedroom, but has a sturdy hand rail. Sleeps comfortably 4 people, but room for 2 sleeping bags if you have a large family. This is a cozy little cabin just 8 minutes from the Ark. It has a loft with two twin beds, and a bedroom with vaulted ceiling and queen bed. It has a full kitchen (with all dishes included), as well as a full bathroom. Note that the wide angle lens used to capture the images of the inside of the cabin make it look slightly larger than it is. ...The cabin is situated near the top of the property, which slopes down hill for 8 acres and ends at Boltz Lake. Guests are welcome to explore down to the lake and enjoy the beautiful nature scenery. Fishing is permitted at the lake with a fishing license that can be obtained at Walmart just 1.5 miles away. Within a short drive, a dock amd boat ramp are located on the opposite side of the lake. The property is in one sense secluded but, at the same time, only minutes from town and the highway. ...Deer, ground hogs, and rabbits live on the property. We would love for you to enjoy them, while not scaring them! : )...All soaps, shampoos, blankets, linens, towels, and such are provided freshly cleaned for each guest. (We have put a lot of research into our linens. We do not think you will be disappointed in them.)...We are making available a $40 discount to anyone who would like to do their own cleaning. We have learned from our first cabin that our guests are almost always very clean. So, we thought we could offer to pass some savings off to our guests in this way. If you are interested in this, just mention it and we will send you the details, but, in short, you take the cabin as it was left by the last guests, changing your own linens out and any other cleanup you wish to do. We are seeking ways to keep our costs down for those guests who deem it worthwhile. ....Also, the Creation Museum is 40 minutes away, and between the Creation Museum and the cabin is Big Bone Lick State Park. The Cincinnati zoo and other attractions are also around. As a side recommendation, if this is your first visit to the Ark Encounter, we do recommend more than a day, if you are able. NOTICE: THE CABIN HAS A LOFT AND A BEDROOM. THE BEDROOM HAS A QUEEN BED, AND THE LOFT HAS A QUEEN AND A TWIN, BOTH ON THE FLOOR. We list our occupancy at 8 so that large families or adventuresome groups can stay, but for some groups, especially older ones, this is only a 4 or 5 person cabin. We have two large sofas, a pack-n-play for little ones in the cabin that can also be used. (And by request ahead of time, we have a cot that can be made available.)This cabin is situated near the top of the hill, just below a couple barns and next to another cabin that is slowly being prepared for use. The 8-acre plot of farmland that the cabin sits on rolls down the hill to Boltz Lake (pronounced "Bolt-z"). Guests are welcome to take a stroll down the hill and enjoy the scenery. Be aware, though, that if you go in the summer, you may not want to leave...ever. You just disappear into a beautiful nature scene when you go down the hill, and even though the highway and downtown Dry Ridge are only minutes away, you are totally surrounded by nature down there...and a couple distant farms out on the hills. It is common to wake up at the cabin to find a herd of deer walking by outside. While the landscaping is slowly moving forward, the inside is not waiting for anything. As you step into the cabin, you are surrounded by wood. Wood walls. Wood ceiling, and a large timber wooden ladder that leads up to the loft. The whole atmosphere makes you want to settle in a stay a while. The loft is a low loft that is 12' x 12' and has a plush queen mattress, as well as a twin mattress. The floor of the loft is made from Tiger Bamboo. Below the loft is the main bedroom, a cozy place to cuddle up for the night. It also has a plush queen mattress. Linens, blankets, and pillows are provided for all beds. A pack-n-play toddler bed is in the cabin. Also, a comfy single-person cot is available in the cabin.The bathroom is inside the bedroom and is a full bathroom with shower, sink, and toilet. Basic amenities like bars of shower soap and shampoo bottles are provided. Towels and washcloths are also provided. Outside the bedroom is a large common area which has a kitchen, living room, and dining area. The kitchen is a full-sized kitchen, with full sized stove and convection oven, microwave, sink, and a small fridge. Pots, pans, cups, and plates are all provided. Even a pizza stone. And more is being added all the time. (We would enjoy hearing your ideas!)The living room has a wrap around couch that is very flat, which makes it good for sleeping on if a child does not want to sleep in the loft. The dining area has an antique farmhouse table that is around 100 years old, built back when Henry Ford was still producing Model-T cars. It has 6 chairs, plus a high chair. While the cabin is further from the highway than most or all hotels around, it is still within distant earshot of the highway. To assure that the highway noise does not prevent any rest, we have purchased excellent noise-cancelling curtains that double as blackout curtains and have also provided an ambient, high fidelity noise machine that recreates 21 different soothing sounds to choose from.Wireless internet is, of course, provided.Please be aware, as I mentioned above, that the bathroom is inside the main bedroom. This can cause an awkward situation if guests are outside sleeping in the living room or loft but need to use the restroom at night. At the cabin door, you will only be 8 minutes from the Ark Encounter entrance. (If you get stuck at the traffic light, it may be 9 minutes.) Heading north, you are 40 minutes from the Creation Museum, with Big Bone Lick State Historic Site half way between the Creation Museum and the cabin. Downtown Cincinnati is 36 minutes, the Cincinnati Zoo is 42 minutes, and Lexington to the south is 45 minutes.Walmart is 1.5 miles away.
