Quinta Camarena

We just finishing hosting our second art retreat at Quinta Camarena. There is so much to love about this place but it starts with Cam and Vera. Once you have taken Vera’s tour of the property and hear their story, you understand their purposeful vision for Quinta Camarena. Their commitment to sustainability and supporting the local artisans, farmers and producers is obvious everywhere you turn. The farm to table food is exceptional and nourishing – it’s made with fresh, seasonal ingredients which are all sourced locally - if not grown right on their property. The studio space is magical with floor to ceiling doors that open into a beautiful pine forest. It is the perfect spot for a retreat to relax, soak up nature and get inspired! We loved our time at Quinta Camarena. As an older couple we felt very comfortable with the group. The atmosphere was so laid back and the activities were spot on. The hosts are really friendly and chilled and always to hand if you need something. A fantastic break .. We highly recommend!

What a place, I can't fault it in anyway. Cam and Vera are amazing hosts and work so hard to make you feel welcome and comfortable in their beautiful Quinta. The activities allowed you to really explore the area and get a feel for what it has to offer. The laid back vibe made everyone feel very chilled and it was easy to get on with all the other people on the yoga retreat. I'll definitely be back and already I'm spreading the word to my friends-although I don't want it to become too popular :)

My husband and I attended the Yoga, surf and wine retreat after a busy week before visiting Porto and Lisbon. It was a great way to relax and we enjoyed the yoga and Surfing very much. Everything was organised for us and it was so nice to be looked after so well. The visit to the vineyard and the local artisans was great fun. The hotel was lovely - and loved the location in the woods and being part of the Camarena family home, Cam and Vera were exceptional hosts and managed to get us all to the right place at the right time. Breakfast was delicious especially the lovely sourdough and the freshly made cakes and fresh fruit. The vegetarian dinners were great and we enjoyed our visits to the local restaurants also organised by Cam and Vera. The whole week was very sociable. The pool was lovely to relax by when we had time after all our activities and we really enjoyed meeting all the other travellers. Oh my god the massage was the best ever! Thank you for a fabulous few days.

I had a fantastic stay at Quinta Camarena for a not-so-serious yoga and hiking holiday. Vera and Cam are very welcoming hosts and care deeply about sustainability and the local area. They have a real focus on locally sourced food and drink, with an excellent selection of local wines and soft drinks. This is the perfect place if you want to get away from the typical tourist spots, but there’s still plenty to do. It’s a short walk to the local town with a good selection of restaurants and a short drive to the beach, and other activities like paddle boarding and horse riding are on offer too. I did a couple of hikes with a local guide who was very knowledgeable about the area.

We had an amazing 5 days the location is set in a quiet village Cercal the facilities at the hotel were really beautiful and natural. The hosts Vera and Cam run a beautiful place and are very responsive. The yoga instructor Tianna was so informative and relaxed we had yoga daily at 8am after that there were daily activities and you could choose to do as much or as little as suited you. The chef Johanna provided beautiful natural tasty food and there was plenty breakfast and dinner were part of out package and we were taken to 2 local restaurants in cercal during our time The activities included horseriding surf lessons hiking by the coast wine tasting which was great fun We were taken to visit local artisan producers leathers ceramics and textiles The environment was so relaxed with 2 dogs and a friendly cat as part of the team beautiful pool to relax by daily or hammocks to fall asleep in, in the shade A great break away one bit of advice go for 7 days not 5 we will go for 7 days next time Thank you Vera and Cam
