The entire Serena brand can do no wrong as far as I'm concerned, so I am a tiny bit biased. But not only is this the nicest hotel in the Kampala area, they're also the best to work with if you're organizing a wedding, a conference, your first born's 5th birthday party... basically any event where you need professional services and have the highest of standards. I can't recommend them enough. It's the people, the beautiful facilities and the stunning landscape.

My worst experience in a supposedly 5star resort. I went for a reunion with a group of about friends. The hotel craged me almost $82 for two bottles of a dimple white wine! I was charged oer glass, I.e 4 per bottle! The taxi fare by the hotel was a rip off as well. I was billed $60 per trip to and fro the airport despite transportation being pre-arranged!! Never visit this destination. Staff were nice, but management was incompetent!! If I had checked reviews prior, I would have asked the organisers to book another hotel. Foreigners, beware

We booked a stayed here for 5 nights, big mistake and only booked based on 5 star rating, facilities and the marina restaurant. The staff in the hotel restaurant are insufficiently trained and have no idea what they are doing. The chef is unable to prepare a meal, half the items on the menu were not available. We never received a meal that we ordered and one of our meals was completely inedible. Breakfast was farcical as when the hotel is not busy it goes from a buffet breakfast offering to what the staff called an ‘al a carte’ again we could not get what we ordered from being served milk that had curdled to food being very over cooked. One breakfast we ordered the cheese and crackers, which turned up without the crackers, when we request the crackers they gave us shortbread biscuits. I addition to this, major building works was going on (had been since April and although this was on going when we booked, no one told us about the building works). On our last day we decided to try the golf/marina restaurant only to discover that a wedding was taking place at the venue, even though it had additional facilities that were not being used for the wedding we were treated appallingly by the staff and advised we had to be a golfer to use. The condescending looks we received were appalling it was as if we were something that they had trodden in. Rooms are good, the team looking after the rooms were good as was the concierge. We will never stay at this hotel again and booked at the Protea in Entebbe on our last few days in Uganda, much better.

Spacious rooms, great service and beautiful landscape around the property! Loved that there's a gym, I used it plenty! I also enjoyed how spacious the room is and liked dining at the marina restaurant! I've spent a night, and it was a good overnight stay. My only issue was the A/C, there were power cutoffs and the room would get quiet warm.

We had a royal lunch here, with a view on Lake Victoria. We both had a tilapia. I had one in a delicious coconut sauce and my girlfriend had a grilled one. They were huge! Our waitress was charming. We paid about USD 40, with drinks. After that, we took a leisurely walk around the hotel and reached the lake. It's a little bit far from the city center, but definitely worth it.

On our last day in Uganda we headed to Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort & Spa to grab some lunch at The Citadel Restaurant. As our flight to Uganda had arrived in the early hours of the morning, and our return flight would depart around the same time, I wasn't going to have another chance to get a glimpse of Lake Victoria so I was excited to hear that the resort is located right next to it. The resort is beautiful, well maintained and it was awesome to be able to see a bit of Lake Victoria from it. After taking some photos we headed to the Citadel Restaurant which unfortunately does not capitalize on the views of the lake, but did serve some local dishes including Tilapia which was caught in the lake. I went for the Tilapia Fillets and can highly recommend you give it a try. I also went for one of my favourite local beers, Nile, which I can highly recommend if you haven't tried it yet. The food was good, the service was good and the beer was good - what more can you ask for.

Amazing place, friendly and helpful staff, super confortable rooms and meeting rooms, incredible views, SPA services/ treatment and staff are very professional. The hotel’s marina is very beautiful and it is possible to visit the Chimpanzee sanctuary from there. I 100% recommend this hotel, incredible experience

Would not recommend staying here. The rooms were nice but the restaurant staff and front desk repeatedly tried to double charge us for food and drinks when we paid full board. Our guide kept on having to argue with them. They definitely try to take advantage of foreigners.
