Quality Inn, what a disappointment. Upon arriving, there was a pull-behind trailer as you drove up and new carpet rolls just outside the front doors. Clearly, renovation would be happening soon. However, the carpet flanked the opening (they could have fallen as there was nothing around it), and there wasn't even a caution sign. Once going inside, the first thing I noticed was how dark it was. There were no lights on in the lobby, and yet there was a gentleman in there with the TV on. The lights were on at the front desk. The smell hit next; it smelled like a Fabulouso bottle had been dumped it was so strong. The bright side is that it was clean, but not without side effects. After getting my room key, I headed in. The smell overtook that room, too. I was physically ill at this point and had to use the bathroom. I looked around the room, and there was a hole in the wall near the window, damage on other parts of the wall as well. The drain in the sink was just a hole, no blocker, so you could easily drop something down the sink and lose it. I couldn't stay there. I am extremely smell sensitive, and strong scents trigger my migraines with me, which will have me down for days at a time. I spoke to the front desk agent about the smell (Pine-Sol, apparently, not Fabulouso) and she offered another room. If the scent was that bad in the lobby and the room I went into, clearly that scent would be throughout the hotel as that is the cleaning agent they use. I booked a night at a different hotel and told her that, as there was no way I could stay. As I loaded my things back into my vehicle that is when I noticed the broken glass on one of the hotel room windows. Safety is a concern at this point - the hole in the wall, the broken glass. No thank you. The positive is that the front desk agent was nice, polite.
