Grand Aston Cayo Las Brujas Beach Resort & Spa

We were treated like royalty nicest people I've ever met in my entire life our room was spectacular the maid service was spectacular the food was spectacular the people were spectacular no place better I loved every minute of it and I miss every single person there they treated us so good The only downfall was dealing with sunwing but the resort itself one of the most special places I've ever been in my life I cannot wait to go back I loved it there everything was a 10 out of 10 if I could give it more I would everything and everybody were just incredible Thank you Grand Aston

I’m currently on my last day on a 1 week vacation here and I love it. I’ve been all over the world including North Korea and Madagascar, and I think this resort is great, especially considering the cheap price. I’m staying solo in the adult section in building 10 and no issues whatsoever. Had electricity and hot water all week. Room is clean, minibar restock daily… and a beautiful ocean view! Adult section pool and snackbar are right downstairs. It’s also a short walk to the beach and spa. Plenty of food at the buffet all week (including eggs in the morning). It does get repetitive but it’s not so bad. They did ran out of bread today at the snack bar but it’s ok. Only A la Carte restaurant I tried is the Caribbean and it was fantastic (had the steak!). Staffs are super nice. Marilena (?) at the breakfest/lunch buffet was great, so are the people at the adult snack bar. The negative is the serious lack of lounge chairs at the beach and a very weak wifi. Beach is not the best, but if you just want to chill it does the job. I think for the price I would definitely recommend.

I always base my vacation on “Would I return” the answer for the Grand Aston is NO”. If this helped, you’re welcome. If you are curious why, read on, and I will break down some things. It will be lengthy as I like to give fellow travellers a detailed review. As a pre-cursor, I feel I must confess we are members of the Unlimited Vacation Club. So maybe our expectations are different. The Resort – It is a very beautiful resort with lots of potential. Unfortunately, it is under-staffed, so when guests decide to be lazy of inconsiderate and toss their garbage all around the resort, there is not enough staff to clean up after them. We had an amazing room, and give credit where it is due, it was probably one of the nicest rooms we have ever stayed in. The view was incredible. We stayed in room 1054, and we could not have been happier. We never ran out of hot water, and the power was always on. The two issues we had with the room was once the A/C unit tripped and needed to be reset, so the room got very hot. The second we did not find out till it was time to leave, the entire building block #10, none of the phone’s work. This makes it a challenge to get a hold of the bellboy to pick up luggage, especially when you leave early in the morning. The Food – We never went hungry, but the selection varied from day to day. Day one we ate at the buffet, and it was fine. There was enough selection for everyone. After that, we ate breakfast at the Adult Buffet, I’ll get to that a bit later. We also ate at the French and Italian restaurants, and they were great. Yes, sometimes they would run out of a certain dish, but there were many to chose from. The staff – This is where the rating drops to a 3. And it probably would drop lower if it was not for one individual. Michel from the French restaurant was absolutely the best. It felt like we had known him our whole life. I hope he gets to hear how much we appreciated him. The rest of the staff seemed not too concerned you were even there. One example is the morning we had booked an excursion and had to be at the lobby for 07:40. I was at the adult buffet at 06:30 to get a bite to eat before we had to leave. I was informed they didn’t open till 07:00 ( I already knew that), but I said that was fine. The staff member said she would be able to get to me early, so that was extremely positive since I was on a time crunch. Well, she finally came to take my order at 07:10, and that was after she took another order from someone who showed up at 07:05. So naturally, I was not too impressed. I never did get my order because I had to leave for the lobby. The Entertainment – The place to be every night is the lobby. There are nightly shows that start in the lobby and move to the theatre. They were great. The Beach – Probably one of the main reasons people visit Cuba is the beaches. They are stunning. The beach at the Grand Aston is amazing as well. We stayed at the Grand Aston las brujas Cayo Santa Maria from March 21-28. Our stay was fantastic. We always found something to eat, the entertainment was good, the beach was wonderful. They do need to purchase new lounge chairs, but other than that we loved the people and the warmth of the Cuban sun! We would go back! Annie from the Entertainment Team made our stay even more memorable. Dancing with our little guy :) Thank you Annie!

Location: Very good Value: Very good Food: Very good Beach/Pools: Very good Rooms: Very good Service: Very good Wonderful relaxing vacation We found the Grand Aston Las Brugas to be very comfortable and welcoming . We had a nice king bedroom in the Adult Section. We enjoyed the pool as well as the great bartender by the Adult pool. The ladies that worked at the Adult snack bar were very friendly and attentive. We want to mention in particular Yakimis Madrigal Peraza as a wonder house maid, she is friendly and thorough. We really enjoyed the French restaurant with super service provided by Michel Carrazana Santana and the lovely Katrina Bello. They all made our vacation so enjoyable The musicians at the lobby were superb especially the young guitar player who did a lot of Country songs. The Michael Jackson show was spectacular. We also enjoyed the jazz bar and drinks made by Julio, he is quite talented. Worst resort I’ve ever been to. To all Canadians, do not waste your money! My family and I got extremely sick. The service and food is terrible. I wouldn’t even come back here for free. Don’t listen to any of the positive reviews. If you go there, bring medicine and your own food.
