We arrived at Cardiff Central by train, which is 15mins walking to this Premier Inn. It was very welcoming and staff friendly, rooms clean, with as much tea and coffee, which you took from the travellers store at the main entrance. My only gripe is as I have dietary requirements, They couldn't cater for them and had to make do with what was on offer. No gluten free food at night, Only what I would call general burgers, lasagne, steak battered fish and chips. Only veg on offer was peas. In this day and age Hotels need to cater for a variety of people's health conditions. Vegan/vegetarians are not Gluten free or Ibs sufferers or Celiacs. Which are complicated problems. It would be helpful if they offered something which could be adapted. .

Fantastic price for 1 night. Everything you need and comfy beds. Air con in the room,much needed when it's warm. Disappointed that only 1 set of towels were provided when there were 3 of us and the 2nd bed wasn't made up. Staff member Harry sorted everything promptly and with a smile

We arrived just before 3pm to a chaotic check-in. Self service if you’ve already paid. If not you need to see a member of staff. Luckily we didn’t have to wait too long. That over and done with we got to our room. Clean and tidy. Spacious room, very comfortable bed. Nice bathroom. However, following morning went down for breakfast there was no greeting from the member of staff that was on at the front only spoke to ask name and that we could sit anywhere. We had paid for 3 cooked breakfasts. On that first morning went to get our food and most of the plates hadn’t been washed properly- had to go through several to get a clean one. The mushrooms were hard and so was the tomato. The rind on the bacon not cooked properly and the scrambled egg was horrible. Not hot either as it should have been. Couldn’t eat it. Complained to the aforementioned member of staff who clearly didn’t seem to believe us and just said he would have a word with chef. Anyway, our next 2 breakfasts were great. Lovely hot food and clean plates. We felt we should have had a refund for the first breakfast as couldn’t eat it. The place has changed since we stayed there 7 years ago as back then the staff were more attentive and friendly. We will not be staying there again.

Do not use the self check in kiosk. It took our payment and then close broke down. Our payment hadn’t then reached the reception computer so we had to pay twice! Was told the money would be refunded within the hour but we are still waiting! The telephone number we were given to call, just in case, was not available until Monday! Ruined our weekend and left us financially crippled.

I love this hotel as it is right in the city centre and close to Queen Street station which is handy for me to get around. The staff are extremely friendly and ready to answer questions about the hotel and the surrounding area. An ideal place to stop when visiting for a few days.

Stayed in this hotel many times and always find the staff friendly and helpful. My only issue this time as the noise from the lift ( on the 9th floor) and the neighbours being a bit noisy at 3am. Nice to see both lifts working. Will definitely stay again
