Cashel Palace Hotel

Beautiful weekend in the palace staying in the carriage house. 5 star treatment from the minute we drove up the beautiful entrance as we were greeted by the finely dressed concierge who arranged our parking space and would have parked the car for us had we needed. He took our bags and as we did check in another staff member brought our bags to our room. We were given a tour of the hotel before being guided to our gorgeous room and shower how everything worked. 1st day was spent touring cashels many pubs and over indulgence in the best Guinness. This is the first time we were able to just walk out of a 5 star resort to a bustling village with shops and bars and everything you could want. This was finished with a nightcap in the lovely Guinness bar. Great night sleep in a very comfy bed. Next day started with VIP treatment at breakfast from the outstanding staff. We worked the breakfast off with a lovely swim in the pool. You can swim outside into the rain which is fabulous and great for curing a hangover. Great spa and we will have to return for the treatments available. Lovely walk out the back and up to the rock which looks over the hotel and is an outstanding feature. Great dinner and service in Mikey Ryan's, live music in Dervans pub across the street or a disco in Brian Borus. We were sad to leave on Sunday and the breakfast room manager overheard us saying we were going to Kildare village so we're given discount passes for it. Overall this beats other high end hotels because everything is to hand, you never need your car. It's probably even nicer as the weather improves with being able to eat or drink al fresco. Overall a 5 star experience and will stay in the memory and will definitely return. Well worth the money. Thanks Cashel Palace for giving us a great anniversary and valentine's weekend.

We had such a wonderful stay at the Cashel Palace hotel. The hotel decor and ambience, spa facilities, food and most of all the star are truly 5 star. They made a special occasion very memorable! I can’t recommend enough and we will definitely be back!

Simply exceptional… We enjoyed an amazing two night break in cashel. The hotel is situated under the rock of Cashel and the views are beautiful - matched by the stunning service from hotel staff and the exceptional quality of dining. We had breakfast on both mornings , 1 dinner in Mikey Ryan’s and 1 dinner in the bishops buttery. The food was delicious and the service attentive and efficient. We strolled up to the Rock for a visit (through the gardens ) and then hit the spa for a few hours. Our room was beautiful and it’s the little touches like complementary lemonade and chocolate - all produced by Irish and local suppliers too. If you have the opportunity to visit, I’d strongly recommend it. Although you could easily be tempted not to leave the hotel given the many dining , bar and relaxation options, There’s some lovely local business and boutiques around the town that are well worth visiting too.

Just did a one night stay at the hotel as we were just on a birthday celebration with family. From the moment we arrived I have to say I was impressed with efficiency of valet parking, the check in and luggage to the rooms. Our rooms were bright and airy, full aircon, overlooking the garden and we had a view of the Rock of Cashel, all very scenic and peaceful. The bed is large and exteemely comfortable and pillows were just perfect, neither too hard or too soft but extremely supportive. Full tv service, wi-fi and complimentary mini-bar. The beautifully appointed en-suite is large with a huge low level access 1200x1200 double door rain head shower, full disabled access and compliant with bars and seat. All lighting controls are electronic keypads and you also have a night setting with low level courtesy lights for bathroom access during the night. We had cocktails in the Guinness bar before dinner, it’s a small intimate bar and perfect for couples and quiet conversation, we dined in the Michelin star Buttery restaurant and while I dined in several of these through the years I’d have to say it was one of the finest meals I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. It was very informal, plenty of time between courses, staff were attentive but never intrusional and the meal lasted about three hours including a relaxing drink to finish off the night. Mains available ranged from beef , venison, fish etc so every palate was catered for and the between courses apperatives and palate cleansers were superb. Breakfast the following morning is in a small room to the side of reception and doesn’t hold a huge amount of people so it may be worth booking a time slot if you need to be out at a particular time for travel etc as we had to wait a little time to be seated as we arrived at 10am which I suspect may be a busy time. Breakfast was again superb, the quality of the food was very very high, from the juices to granola/ yogurts and full Irish. It really was a very good breakfast with an abundance of choice to suit every taste. I have to say when it came to checkout I was certainly regretting only booking for one night and will certainly be back in the near future. 10/10 for management and staff…

Everything was excellent. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The various places to relax, eat and drink were all as you'd expect in a 5 star property. The walled garden is an added bonus, and the views of the Rock of Cashel are spectacular. And by being located in the centre of the town, there is a number of pubs, cafés, restaurants and shops right outside the front gate. It was our first time eating in a Michelin Star restaurant, and it didn't disappoint.

Beautiful Hotel .. pricey but watch for specials .. Bishops Buttery best food we’ve ever experienced.. Very comfortable bedrooms and Staff all very pleasant .. well kept gardens and only a short walk up to the Rock .. directly out of the grounds of hotel .. Lots to see in the area ..
