Park Hyatt Aviara

I had very high expectations for the Park Hyatt Aviara after reading so much about it and seeing it consistently ranked as one of the top Hyatt properties in the US. But I was definitely a bit disappointed after our stay. Here is a brief recap of our issues: 1. Upon check-in, we were thanked for our Hyatt status, but were immediately asked if we would like to pay to upgrade to a better view on the "highest floor" because our room was on the "lowest floor" with no view. We declined, but were told we would get the nicer view anyway. Okay, that would have been great EXCEPT... 2. We went to the room, opened the door, only to find that the room they gave us was not yet cleaned from the previous guests. Trash was everywhere and one of the beds didn't have sheets. I went back to the front desk and was given a courtyard view room. The courtyard was absolutely beautiful EXCEPT... 3. Every night the hotel transforms the beautiful courtyard into either a wedding reception or corporate event. We have to watch employees set up all day, have to endure blasting music late into the night, and have to deal with drunk guests returning to their room at midnight and waking us up (you can hear everything in the hallway). On 3 of the 4 nights here, there were events in the courtyard. The entire courtyard gets closed down and the next morning there is trash outside. 4. Prices at the hotel are outrageous for no reason: overnight parking is $65/night! There is no shortage of space at this resort and I am no stranger to high pricing (from NYC), but this is on another level. $65 is more than our car rental cost per day. The only thing worse than the parking rates are the prices in the market hotel store. A 1L bottle of water and a small kids bottle of milk cost $14. After the first day, we simply refrained from eating or drinking at the hotel. I don't mind spending more for a higher level of service and a higher quality product, but a bottle of water (and most of the products at the store) are generic commodities and these are bought at wholesale for next to nothing. This is just taking advantage of hotel guests. 5. Speaking of bottled water, we didn't get our daily water bottles as part of our Hyatt status, but it took us until the last night to realize it was because we were missing our nightly turndown service. This wasn't intentional, we didn't know there was nightly turndown. 6. We got locked out of our room twice because of a faulty security bolt. The security bolt would somehow lock as the door would shut and we would have to call security to come and open it. 7. Someone tried to deliver a package to our room, thinking we were part of one of the corporate events. I wonder if this hotel has no idea how to work their inventory system. So yes, there is no question that this is a beautiful hotel and overall we still had a very nice trip, but the Park Hyatt Aviara seem to prioritize the never ending private/corporate events over regular guests, the prices fo

My wife and I enjoyed our one night stay at the Park Hyatt Aviara Resort in Carlsbad. The resort is in a quiet area east of I-5 with sweeping views of canyons and a distant ocean view. The landscaping is maintained perfectly and the entire property is clean and extremely safe. Our room was upgraded to a beautiful one bedroom suite with two balconies overlooking the central courtyard area. The suite/rooms were very nicely appointed and maintained...definitely befittting a five-star property. The suite was comfortable and very spacious. Staff at check in and at the restaurant were all very professional. Breakfast at the restaurant was very tasty and plentiful with the Globalist "benefits". We were very pleased with the resort, the staff and the experience overall and would happily return for another visit.

Super clean room. Very accommodating to families. Felt like a real vacation and we were close to Carlsbad Pumpkin Patch/Flower Fields, Legoland, San Diego Safari Park. I initially didn't want to go here since it was so far from the beach but it still ultimately felt like a great getaway.

We’ve stayed at a lot of Park Hyatt hotels and consider them to be our favorite luxury chain brand. The Aviara was no exception and a wonderful resort with beautiful grounds. This trip was for our anniversary and to get out of the Arizona heat. We had a ground floor suite with two patios which was perfect for our two dogs for taking them out and not dealing with elevators. A great touch was bandanas for the dogs with their names embroidered on them. There is a Lagoon Trail nearby that was perfect for taking them for walks. We had great food and service at the two restaurants, Ember&Rye and Pacific Point. Pacific Point also has a sushi menu which we used and enjoyed. Esther in Client Services greeted us and ensured our stay was perfect. Can’t wait to return next year.

Exceptional! The property is stunning and if it’s even possible, the staff is the best I’ve ever encountered. Kind, professional, dedicated to your experience being top notch. We hosted a wedding and every detail was perfect (they were even kind enough to throw in great weather). Our food was warm and delicious and the wedding cake was a dream for the palette. I would recommend this property to anyone seeking an elevated guest experience-you will not be disappointed!

This is a beautiful hotel, with great amenities, a marvelous location, an excellent staff. Truly a wonderful place to stay. The view is magnificent, and the service s superb. It is perfectly lovely in every way. While it is not in walking distance to Carlsbad Village it is close enough to drive there in ten minutes.

My stay was excellent from the time I parked my rental to the time I departed. Hyatt far than exceeded my expectations especially the staff. what you hear, read, see about travel and the lack of good quality service throughout the services industry; it MADE me very keep and happy I stayed at a location that blew all of that away. Who ever hires your staff at the Park Hyatt Aviara should get a major bonus?!!!

The property is amazing, very clean, beautiful rooms and excellent food! The staff members are very nice and friendly and always trying to help. I absolutely loved it!

The Park Hyatt Aviara provides exceptional customer service, thoughtful presentation of not only the beautiful rooms, but the decor is immaculate, and there were beautiful fresh flowers everywhere! I traveled for a business conference, but will definitely return for pleasure!
