The Carbondale Super 8 is located on IL Rt 13 directly across from the University Mall and two miles from Southern IL University.The Carbondale Super 8 is conveniently located 2 miles from Southern IL University and only 4 miles from John A. Logan Community College. There are many restaurants within a 1 mile radius and some within walking distance. There are numerous fishing and skiing lakes in the area and the Shawnee National Forest is 10 miles away. The beginning of the very impressive wine trail is only 10 miles from the property. The Carbondale Super 8 provides the a free light breakfast item together with your choice of coffee tea and juice and stay connected with free WiFi. It's a great little hotel. Clean and tucked away in a little shopping area. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Check-in was easy. The room was small and a bit crowded with two beds but adequate. Tub faucet leaked. Overall was an OK stay.

This was my second stay at this hotel and it was exactly the same as before. Excellent value for the money. It is an older facility, but the staff more than makes up for it with their hard work. The entire facility is EXTREMELY clean. Will gladly stay here again the next time I am in town.

I asked to upgrade my room and pay the difference because my soon was painted very dark and i felt enclosed. They refused to let me upgrade so i had to stay in the same room for 4 days. Then i also asked for a tub drain stopper and they said they dont have any....and that nobody can take baths.

Nice motel, very clean, pleasant staff. Only negative is the advertised breakfast was very skimpy (cold cereal, milk, coffee, and some packaged sweet rolls).

I wasn't sure what to expect when I booked. I was very pleasantly surprised. It's an older property, but it is being very well maintained by the more than friendly staff. Every staff member I encountered smiled and said hi. As long as you remember you get what you pay for, I would highly recommend this hotel.

The highlight was the large,comfy bed. Breakfast was a little chintzy (only powder creamer, for example), and I'm not sure I've ever used thinner toilet paper, but those are minor things. It was fine overall, and not expensive.

Breakfast is cold cereal and a gallon of milk on a counter, nothing else, and coffee that was barely fresh.
Room was clean, bathroom had peeling paint, and the sofa was broken so badly that it was unusable.
