Château les Carrasses

We had a 1900 reservation on a Sunday. The kitchen was out of the lamb entree, the only meat entree. They substituted by supposedly providing more of the slow roasted lamb. Portion was tiny. The amuse bouche was tasteless. The ravioli was extremely salty and the pasta was doughy. The dessert was OK, but nothing special. So the kitchen was a great disappointment. The service was excellent. We had wine by the glass from the chateau and each was delicious. The presentation of the food was very nice, so very unfortunate that the food taste was below average.

The hotel on its own is stunning,in a beautiful setting.The staff is pleasant. Unfortunately we are very disappointed with the breakfast the poached eggs arrived in a bowl of water with hash browns submerged in a water,after sending back to the kitchen only to be served exact same again.We also asked for pot of coffee and we were served coffee in a soup bowl.The management were on site at the time could have been more diligent and should supervise operations more.Although the hotel was not at all busy waiting time for quite long for services. In our room there was not enough hot water for shower for the family of four. We had to cancel our restaurant booking due to lack of choice from the menu. Overall pleasant stay but management need to up their game

This is an amazing place. So relaxing! Beds are very, very comfy. The villas are very well equipped with everything you could need. We are at the restaurant quite a few times, beautifully fresh and delicious. Spa treatment was the BEST ever massage. 100% recommend. Wine walk and wine tasting were both brilliant and even the kids loved the wine walk and grape juice tasting.

We stayed 4 nights for a friends wedding and everything was perfect! The staff go above and beyond to take care of everyone, which is no small feet for a 65 person wedding. The bikes on property were well maintained and the connecting trails were one of the highlights of our stay. We did not have kids but the property appeared great for families. We are already plotting our return! While you have everything you need on the property, a rental car would be very useful to be able to explore nearby towns.

We travelled with our 3 young children and had a beautiful time. Everything is relaxed and well designed for travelling with kids, even having grape juice options so they can join wine tasting! Would definitely recommend!

Not a great experience sadly. The service in the restaurant on the second night of our stay was unacceptable and we were totally sidelined for a corporate booking, despite being the first people in the restaurant - not ideal when you have young, hungry children. The mid-stay cleaning didn’t happen and there was no communication as to why, despite being told on check in that this would happen on the Tuesday. We had two babies and a young child in our party and it was essential that a certain standard of hygiene was met. There was a discrepancy in the prices quoted in the literature for things and what was the actual price. For example, I was quoted €50 by the staff for our transfer from the train station but had to pay €60 “because it was Sunday”. Surely that should have been communicated to me ahead of time? Also, it said in the brochure in the room that breakfast was €22 but the actual cost was €25. They also tried to charge for my son’s breakfast, despite it saying under 5s are free. Via email in the lead up to our arrival, I asked for there to be a steriliser (among other items) in our room a total of three times. When we arrived it was not there and I had to ask once again. We had no bin bags and no dustpan and brush in the accommodation, which was poor. There were no pool towels in our room, despite being told there were. When we asked for these at reception, there was a lot of confusion and they took a long time to come. The restaurant menu was the same every night, with only four options that felt like not a lot of choice and of those choices some weren't available on the first night. In summary, we felt the service we received was poor. We travel a lot and we feel that although you advertise as a “family friendly” destination, this is not what we experienced at all. I am yet to receive the €100 cleaning fee reimbursement, plus the extra money back from our room rate that the manager said would be coming to us when we checked out last Wednesday.
