Hotel molto bello, vista, villa antica, giardini e camere davvero belle, ma purtroppo il servizio al ristorante non è all'altezza. Sono davvero troppo lenti, 20 min di attesa per un pane tostato a colazione e al ristorante 35 minuti di attesa per avere il dolce per poi scoprire dopo il mio sollecito che non c'era la torta.. da migliorare sicuramente il servizio bar/ristorante perchè non è da 5 stelle e gli ospiti aspettano e aspettano e sollecitano. Inoltre abbiamo prenotato un massaggio da un coupon dato all'arrivo, ma solo quando era ora di farlo scopriamo che ci dovevano portare fuori dall'hotel in un'altra spa. Il massaggio è stato comunque ottimo ma nessuno ci aveva avvisato e sicuramente sarebbe stato ancora piú bello fatto in hotel.

We really enjoyed all the elements that Camps Bay Retreat had to offer. The very scenic walk to the ocean by the lush gardens added to the experience. The rooms were spacious, food delicious and service was always with a smile.

We booked our room ("Herbs") via AirBnB, not really understanding that it was, in essence, part of a lovely, welcoming, relaxing hotel. So we had a big surprise! The hotel enjoys views across the Atlantic Ocean, a great place to enjoy the sunset. The varied and interesting garden has secret, tranquil areas as well as a path leading down to the beach (after crossing the busy road). What a treat! Our room had an amazing wood fired hot tub, with sunset views, on the deck. We used it every evening. We ate every meal in the hotel restaurant, enjoying the wonderful example of South African hospitality at its best. Special shout out to Benson who was our waiter for most meals; never have we enjoyed table service from such a friendly, smiling, enthusiastic waiter. A lovely guy and credit to the hotel. The next time we come back to Cape Town, there is no other place we would wish to stay.

Went for some pre-birthday celebration drinks and food. Wonderful service, great food, great pricing (in Cape Town standards) and pet-friendly. I love the chill vibes, and the views are complementary! A Retreat it is! Easily recommended for those wanting some chill-vibes, some personal time, top-notch service and a "I love Cape Town" experience.

This is an absolute hidden gem for Camps Bay and would 100% recommend. We felt the friendliness off the staff as soon as we walked in and service of the hotel manager Pieter has helped us feel taken care of and made our trip to Cape Town so memorable. We stayed in one of the manor house rooms and love the warmth and coziness of the fires in winter. There are beautiful gardens surrounding the property, with lots of surprises such as wood-fire hot tubs, a waterfall and padel ball court. The food and drink has also been great. It is a very short walk to the beach from the house to the gardens. Thank you to all the staff!

We first stayed at Camps Bay back in 2018 and thought it was amazing! The service, the staff, the food etc. we have since returned twice once in 2023 and again in 2024 and noticed a huge change in management. Ever since “new management” have taken over, there has been a complete lack of service at the hotel, including the bookings team! In Jan 2024 there was zero service, I even spoke to the manager without realising they were the manager, asking what had happened with the service at the hotel because waiting 45min for a can of coke was beyond a joke! They said all staff had been there for many years and were well trained, (complete lie). The manager was constantly on their phone inside the office, never coming out to check everything was being “managed” by staff properly as a manager should be doing if they were actually good at their job! I didn’t get towels until 2 hours later after repeatedly asking for them. The Hotel doesn’t have back-up generators (or at least ones that work!) so we were not able to have breakfast on a couple of occasions due to load shedding. The staff are not as friendly, welcoming or hospitable as before. Considering this is a “5 Star” hotel, its service, staff and management have really let it down. We won’t be staying at CB again!

The hotel is in a good location for visiting Cape Town. You can walk to Camps Bay. Table Mountain is close by and an The city itself is a just an uber ride away.

We're traveling through the SA on the garden route. Our first experience in South Africa is at the camps bay retreat. What a start! Room is amazing, views incredible and the food is amazing. I hope the rest of our holiday is as good. The staff couldn't be more helpful. Friendly, caring and accomodating! Def recommend if you're looking to stay near Cape town or Table Mountain.
