Mario checked us in at Art Gallery B&B after a long walk from Pisa up over the mountain. He let us check in early as we were eager to drop our packs and give our backs a rest. We had a room on the top floor with a gorgeous view of the small village of Vorno with a breathtaking glimpse of some unknown distant craggy peaks. The bathroom was spacious, and the water was plenty hot. There was a roomy closet and a small writing desk if you needed to work. Mario recommended the place next door for lunch but when we went over it was booked as it was a Sunday right after church had let out. If you are visiting Vorno please make reservations for lunch/dinner as there are few options in town. I'd also recommend walking up to the observatory above town as it gives an excellent view of the valley Lucca resides in as long as a picturesque vista of Vorno. The next morning Mario brought our breakfast out around 0800 and made sure we were taken care of. The breakfast was simple (like all Italian breakfast) but tasty and he let us take some snacks for our hike that day. Overall, a great little place to stay with a kind and helpful host. Great job Mario, I wouldn't hesitate to book a room here again!
