Sentido Galomar

We loved our stay. Great views, facilities and above all service. So in our opinion a wonderfull spot to explore the island. The manta diving is a very cool option. Their swimming pools and sea entrances are amazing for snorkling . Nothing but love for Galomar Sentido.

Na een zwaar jaar hadden we beiden heel erg nood aan rust en ontspanning, we kozen online voor mooie hotels. Bij het aankomen merkten we dat er grote werken aan de gang waren. We zijn de kamer gaan checken, maar we werden bijna terug buiten gedrild door de machines. Bij het checken van de kamer waren de terrasmeubelen stuk, waren de gangen, vies en donker. We voelden ons hier echt niet goed. Bij het vragen naar annulering ging dit eerst niet. Dan weer wel. dan weer niet. Een waardebon voor 2 jaar konden we krijgen. Helaas is dat voor ons niet meer van toepassing. Ik kon geen manager spreken... inmiddels ook 2 x gemaild maar geen antwoord. De man achter de balie belde de balieverantwoordelijke, zelfs haar kleding was heel vies (Ze vroeg of ik kinderen heb, en jawel, maar op mijn werk draag ik nette kledij). Geen plek om tot rust te komen. Geen airco. Vies en stuk meubilair. Vergane glorie! Geen oor naar klachten. Dan was Sentido Galomar 10 sterren waard! After a tough year, we both really needed rest and relaxation, we chose beautiful hotels online. Upon arrival, we noticed that there were major works going on. We went to check the room, but we were almost drilled back outside by the machines. When checking the room, the patio furniture was broken, the hallways were dirty and dark. We really didn't feel good here. When asking for cancellation, this was not possible at first. Then again, yes. then again, it doesn't. A voucher for 2 years we could get. Unfortunately, that no longer applies to us. I couldn't speak to a manager... In the meantime I have also emailed 2 times but no answer. The man behind the counter called the desk manager, even her clothes were very dirty (She asked if I have children, and yes, but I wear smart clothes at work). Not a place to unwind. No air conditioning. Dirty and piece of furniture. Faded glory! No ear for complaints. Then Sentido Galomar was worth 10 stars!

Lovely decor and stunning location.. a bit further out from any form of nightlife than I’d have liked. The food was delicious and is 5/5.. as is the view. The rooms are spacious and comfortable.. we had a side sea view room but we’re more than happy with that. Sadly most of the staff were cold and unapproachable..ironically reception staff being the worst.. not the best welcome after an early morning flight! The evening entertainment was ok but finished early. We loved the sporting and gym activities.. (hiking the local area is a must!) but in general the feeling of the hotel was very subdued..sterile.. and needs a bit more life pumping into it! For example the pool area was deathly silent all the time.. to talk you had to whisper. Probably best suited to people who don’t like being around other people much and prefer quietness and solitude.

Booked as an EasyJet package with late arrival Check in agent did not provide a warm welcome at all , (not impressed) but our check out agent was far more friendly and customer focused Hotel itself is lovely , eco friendly , decorated tastefully , modern , wonderful views for breakfast and drinks Our Sea view room was very well appointed and very clean and comfortable , no privacy on balcony on one side (room 2206) Pool ( salt water ) itself was wonderful and very clean maintenance done at odd times disturbing guests ( this happened at Galasol also , disinfectant placed on floor and buffed whilst we were eating at 3pm ) No pool service at Galomar , you have to go to restaurant or bar when they are open No shade on separate sun terrace ( level 3) which is unsafe , general lack of shade around pool and not enough beds when hotel full Our main disappointment was with the majority of staff provided an ‘uninterested ‘ almost unfriendly service Copiera Bar staff not customer focused at all , one throwing the bill on table Lina at the Galasol was the exception , she was wonderful (you made our day) Ayurvedic massage booked , no consultation prior including medical history , allergy etc , no introduction from the therapist and no invitation to use spa facilities The seven days certainly catered to ALL our senses , not ALL positive

Major renovation in hotel complex. Noise levels (hammer drills and disk cutters ) so high unable to enjoy the balcony or the Pool. Work is starting at 8am and continues to 6pm. We were not made aware of this before or on arrival. It looks like the renovation will take some time. Not the quite restful holiday we needed.

We have spent an amazing week in this beautiful hotel. All the pictures on the web site are absolutely true. The views from the restaurant are to die for. Breakfast is lovely - whether you come early or late - they serve breakfast from 7.30 till 10.30 every day and we have been at both ends and the food on offer was just as fresh, appetising and plentiful. The whole place It is spotless, the staff are all professional, cheerful and helpful. There are sun beds around the pool and on a sun terrace. We found the outdoor pool a bit nippy, but there is a heated indoor one and jacuzzi a short walk away, and a well equipped gym (which us lazy people didn’t use!) . We had a massage which was oh so wonderful. - I feel it’s the sort of place that I would feel comfortable coming to alone. Several restaurants and bars nearby. A good bus service into funchal is a few minutes walk away - costs 2 euros 20 each way and takes 15 minutes on the express one or half an hour in the slower one.
