Hotel in zona Playa Bonita, Campeche

Arrivammo tardi a Campeche la sera dopo un'ora di guida da Chetumal e siamo stati stanchi. Abbiamo letto buone recensioni sul Holiday Inn, quindi ci siamo fermati per una notte. Pagammo al divano e andammo a dormire. La mattina seguente abbiamo visto che ci sono stati pagati $20.00 più di quanto è stato annunciato su vari siti di prenotazione hotel, quindi siamo andati al desk front e li abbiamo chiesto se ridurrebbero il tasso a quello che è stato sui siti, ci piacerebbe rimanere un'altra notte. Ci hanno rifiutato. Questo ci ha un po' turbati perché questi hotel dicono sempre di prenotare direttamente attraverso di loro per ottenere il miglior prezzo! A qualsiasi prezzo... plus: Buon colazione, vista pulita con una bella vista. Concierge utile e servizio campanello. Vorrei che il desk fosse stato un po' più utile. Abbiamo finito per andare a un bellissimo B&B nel quartiere storico per metà del prezzo.

Great location within the walls of the colonial city of Campeche. Our room was one floor above the lobby and this made it difficult to bring our luggage up without an elevator. The room was adequate with a stand alone closet and drawers for storage. Beds were decent. Our room overlooked Calle 12. The bathroom was tiny and dated. The shower cramped, awkward and dangerous entering or exiting as it is easy to slip on the wet floor. My travelling companion found the shower head to be too low. The most annoying aspect of our stay was the lack of privacy in that we could easily hear other guests' conversations, using their bathrooms, showers, etc. The hotel did include an American breakfast each morning in an adjacent dining room. The offering included three choices of cooked eggs, accompanied by white bread toast and choice of fruit of the day or orange juice. Orange juice is your best option. Of course, weak coffee was included with complimentary top up. The insult was asking for milk which cost an additional 20 pesos. Cheap in my opinion. My rating, a very dated 2 1/2 star tourist class hotel with its best advantage being location and off street parking (which we did not use). Service staff certainly tried their best and were happy to help which made our stay more bearable. There is also a small travel agency/tour office on site. We will stay elsewhere next time we visit the beautiful city of Campeche.

It’s in Historico Area, but is in two parts diagonally across the street from each other. Microscopic lobby and one tiny lift. My room on first floor was quite large. Tiled floor, lots of wasted space, charmless & somehow cold. All hard surfaces, not very comforting. Two ¾ beds, WiFi, aircon, water, safe, no fridge, but plenty of room. Harsh lighting, no reading lights. Reasonable size bathroom with space, but a stand-in-the-bath old-style shower. Weird breakfast set -up – had to walk across the street to Dining Room in sister hotel. Unusually not a breakfast buffet, but starters of fruit, juice & coffee already laid out. Then had to order next course from the waiter. Ok but limited choice & much slower than helping yourself at a buffet

Buon hotel la cui forza è certo la posizione centralissima, appena dopo la piazza con la chiesa principale per cui la sera è possibile anche andare a cena fuori o fare un giro in centro. La stanza aveva due letti grandi da 1 piazza e mezza e devo dire ho trovato il miglior materasso durante il tour, abbastanza rigido e cuscini morbidi per essere schiacciati. Meglio di altri blasonati hotels. Il bagno un po' datato, con una vasca anni 70/80, ma cmq funzionale. Spazio c'è n'era così come la tv e un buon WI Fi. Viene offerto un Margarita all'arrivo, buonissimo, da prendere nella sala bar di fianco la hall. Colazione un po' povera di dolciumi, in pratica ti possono portare solo un hot cake, un multistrato di pancake che per fortuna è abbondante.

L'hotel ha una buona posizione e ci sono grandi parcheggi davanti all'hotel. La stanza era molto spaziosa e nuovamente arredata. Il bagno era abbastanza grande, aveva anche un asciugacapelli. I letti erano molto comodi. Il personale era amichevole. Il colazione era buono. La sera, correvano fuori dall'acqua calda per fare la doccia. Il wi-fi nella stanza non funzionava.
