The Captain Swift Inn

We had a very nice time at the Capt Swift Inn. Our room, the Eva Cullison, was nice. It is a small room but it was fine for the 2 of us. It was clean, the bed, pillows and chairs were comfortable. The updated bathroom was nice and had a walk-in shower with body sprays. Breakfast was a delicious feast to start your day. 3 courses. 1 of your choice and the other 2 were a serving of a fruit dish and the third was the special of the day. We had a bowl of oatmeal, a bowl of granola w/ blueberries as our choices and the a glass of sliced apples in a caramel sauce then a spinach and egg quiche. The next day was an apple and pineapple dish then blueberry pancakes. You also get coffee, tea and/or juice. The inn was very quiet and close to town, hiking, restaurants and antique stores. Camden and the Inn were well worth a visit and we will be back. The owners Shelly and Jeff were so nice, very helpful and terrific hosts.

The proprietors Jeff and Shelly were terrific! They both are from Pennsylvania and they were very welcoming as well as very knowledgeable, On, restaurants and activities to do in Camden Maine. The Inn was ideally located, not in the middle of town but just up the street from downtown so you literally could walk four blocks to any restaurant, the beach, the salt wharf, or any other activity that would interest you. The breakfasts were all impressive. Each day there was a special breakfast entrée. It may have been blueberry pancakes, or a quiche, In addition there was a three course breakfast! I personally like eggs so I had eggs over medium with either bacon or sausage depending on the day, which was fantastic. The beds were comfortable the air-conditioning and fan speed you could adjust, which was great. We even had a fireplace which was kind of cool to turn on for 30 minutes at night. Also outside they had a fire pit which my family loved. We would go out every night until 10 PM and it automatically would shut off very nice ambience.

Our second visit and we were not disappointed. We were in the Merchantile Room- Highly Recommend. As always Jeff and Shelly were the perfect hosts. The breakfasts are wonderful and Bloody Marys etc are also available. Walking distance to downtown which is a must given the constant traffic jams downtown.

Jeff and Shelly made our stay here so amazing!!!!! They are the sweetest hosts (and Jeff is funny too:). The place was spotless and clean places are about the most important to us. The breakfast that was included was OUT OF THIS WORLD! We were beyond full as we left to venture to our next place. Great location for walking down to Whistling Whale coffee and exploring the town and restaurants. So glad we stayed here and got to meet Jeff and Shelly. We couldn't have been more happy with our stay!

What a beautiful B&B in Camden! Shelly and Jeff are the kindest hosts offering everything we needed for a perfect stay. The room we stayed in, “Mercantile” was so comfortable with its cloud-like king bed, small “kitchen” area with fridge, microwave and coffee maker, and lovely small deck with chairs out back. The breakfasts were divine with SO many choices offered. We look forward to staying at this wonderful, historic inn again next time we’re in Camden!

The Captain Swift Inn is by far the best B&B stay I have ever experienced. The building is historic but in beautiful condition and very clean with modern accommodations and decor. The shower in our room was possibly the cleanest and nicest I've seen in all of my travels. Jeff and Shelly were the warmest of hosts and made us feel so welcome throughout our stay. The 3 course breakfast prepared by Shelly was beyond my wildest expectations: I will never forget the homemade granola and the pear fruit course. My wife and I don't often choose B&B's as often the buildings are a little worse for wear and lack modern luxuries but this was not at all the case at the Captain Swift Inn. I very highly recommend this B&B. The location is not right downtown but is still walkable. Parking downtown was not a problem while we were there so it was not a big deal to take the car when needed.
