The Captain Swift Inn

Jeff and Shelly made our stay here so amazing!!!!! They are the sweetest hosts (and Jeff is funny too:). The place was spotless and clean places are about the most important to us. The breakfast that was included was OUT OF THIS WORLD! We were beyond full as we left to venture to our next place. Great location for walking down to Whistling Whale coffee and exploring the town and restaurants. So glad we stayed here and got to meet Jeff and Shelly. We couldn't have been more happy with our stay!

Jeff and Shelly are the best!! You talking hospitality, they know how to do it. Their B&B is super clean, very well kept and very comfortable. The rooms are the cleaniest, the entire place is clean. And, they do breakfast right, all home made and prepared by Shelly and Jeff. Great location in Camden, we walked everywhere. We truly loved this place!

The Captain Swift Inn is by far the best B&B stay I have ever experienced. The building is historic but in beautiful condition and very clean with modern accommodations and decor. The shower in our room was possibly the cleanest and nicest I've seen in all of my travels. Jeff and Shelly were the warmest of hosts and made us feel so welcome throughout our stay. The 3 course breakfast prepared by Shelly was beyond my wildest expectations: I will never forget the homemade granola and the pear fruit course. My wife and I don't often choose B&B's as often the buildings are a little worse for wear and lack modern luxuries but this was not at all the case at the Captain Swift Inn. I very highly recommend this B&B. The location is not right downtown but is still walkable. Parking downtown was not a problem while we were there so it was not a big deal to take the car when needed.

We truly didn’t want to leave. Our family of four, including two teenagers, enjoyed a delightful three-night stay at this charming B&B, ideally situated in the heart of Camden. Shelly and Jeff are exceptional hosts—gracious, attentive, and clearly dedicated to creating a memorable guest experience. The historic home is rich in character yet impeccably maintained, with every detail thoughtfully considered to ensure comfort. Breakfast each morning was a highlight—beautifully prepared, delicious, and genuinely impressive. This B&B offers the perfect balance of classic charm and modern convenience. We recommend it wholeheartedly.

What a fabulous inn! The owners Shelly and Jeff are very hospitable! The breakfasts were more than plentiful and delicious. Come hungry. Our room, The Mercantile was lovely. Lots of space, nice jacuzzi tub, fireplace and private porch. Great location. Able to walk to the shops and restaurants. Would highly recommend.

We’ve stayed at several B&Bs in Maine, including other Select Registry inns, and this one was by far the best. The inn was immaculate and beautifully maintained, with a cozy, comfortable bed and a lovely en suite featuring a shower with massage jets. The room was very clean. The breakfasts were truly exceptional, multi-course, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious! The innkeepers and staff were warm, welcoming, and attentive, making the entire stay feel special. The inn has a great location, it’s very walkable to all the attractions Camden offers. It’s close enough to down town and the harbor so you can leave the car behind and not worry about parking. We enjoyed it so much we’re already planning a return trip this fall.
