Hotel Corsica & Spa Serena

"Ho soggiornato all’Hôtel Corsica & Spa Serena di Calvi e l’esperienza è stata complessivamente molto buona. La posizione dell’hotel è tranquilla e panoramica, leggermente decentrata rispetto al centro, ma ideale per chi cerca relax, silenzio e una bella vista sulla baia. Il mare e la città si raggiungono in pochi minuti di auto. La camera, anche se un po’ datata nello stile, è risultata molto pulita, ben tenuta e perfettamente funzionante. Il bagno è moderno e curato nei dettagli, con dotazioni complete e un pratico water con doccetta, raro ma molto apprezzato. La manutenzione generale della struttura è eccellente: tutto appare ordinato, pulito e in buone condizioni. La piscina è accogliente e pulitissima, con lettini in legno comodi ma un po’ stretti. Il personale della reception è gentile, disponibile e sempre pronto a dare indicazioni utili. La colazione è buona e varia, servita in una sala luminosa con vista, e offre una scelta ampia di prodotti dolci e salati. La tv in camera, pur di buona qualità, ha un volume massimo di 20, che può risultare basso per chi ha qualche difficoltà d’udito. Molto gradevole il balcone privato, arredato con due sedie: perfetto per una colazione o un momento di relax guardando il panorama. Unico piccolo disagio strutturale: ad ogni piano, per raggiungere alcune camere, è necessario salire cinque gradini dopo l’ascensore, dettaglio da considerare se si hanno valigie pesanti o difficoltà motorie. Nel complesso, un hotel molto pulito, silenzioso e ben gestito, ideale per chi desidera un soggiorno tranquillo, con una splendida vista e un servizio di buon livello."

La Villa Calvi

"We only stayed one night and wished we had more. We were upgraded to a beautiful suite with two lovely balcony areas to enjoy some sun! The bed was very very comfortable. The restaurant was excellent (food and service) and just generally it was such a tranquil spot."

La Signoria

"We stayed there from August 27-29 and, with our two daughters, booked the Villa Mariani, the hotel’s largest and most expensive suite. This was an indulgence for us. I will refrain from commenting on matters that are out of the property’s control - the proximity to the airport or the fact that the nicest suite is bordered—closely—on two sides by working farm. These are some of the realities this property faces. But service—the benchmark of the Relais & Chateaux brand— is entirely within the control of the property and here is where La Signoria fell far short of the mark. Matters looked very promising at check-in: we were attended to by a young man named James, who showed us the property in great detail, explained the features of our room and hurriedly delivered our bags notwithstanding the 32C heat. The room was very good - clean and well appointed. The main trouble came at dinner that night. The food was truly not good—I won’t dwell on this fact, other than to it needs drastic improvement in that it aims for an haute cuisine interpretation of a generic French cuisine and it when it falls short—as it did with many of the dishes—it’s a long way to fall. Basic items like bread service—I recognized the assorted not very fresh selection from the morning buffet—are simply not executed with any care. But it was the service that was truly atrocious. Upon being seated we were asked if we’d like to have a cocktail or wine. We said yes to both and they returned, with three cocktail menus - there were four of us - and no wine menu. After 20 minutes I rose — no one had come to take our orders —to find a staff member (our server was no where to be found) to ask for a wine menu. I returned and waited another 5+ minutes for a list, and when it was finally presented, the server apologized saying “We don’t have enough to go around.” We ordered a bottle of white, after which the wine list was swiftly snatched. Once the bottle arrived, a server initially poured wine for the table. After that, we ended up pouring the bottle ourselves the entire evening. Once the bottle was finished, about halfway through our dinner, no one came by to either clear the bottle or offer the wine list again. And while the food was very disappointing, it paled in comparison to our dining companions—a pair of rats who spent most of the evening moving back and forth on the wall and vines immediately behind out table (I’d post the video-that I sent to R&C- that illustrates this but Tripadvisor doesn't support video files). Had there been any staff attending our table I would have alerted them to the situation, but as there wasn’t, I didn’t have the opportunity to. We left without dessert, disappointed but hoping it was an off night, something that happens to all restaurants on occasions. The following day I went to visit some neighbouring wineries for work and my eldest daughter stayed behind to relax. I returned to a text from her saying that she had ordered a ham and cheese panini 40 m"

Casa di Floumy

"La struttura ha un buon potenziale ma sembra abbandonata c’è molta incuria e tutto è molto trascurato. La stanza assegnata o era buia senza aria e stretta : unico punto di forza il bagno . Ma la cosa peggiore è che il giardino è tenuto malissimo anche a terra la pavimentazione è mobile e si rischia di cadere Peccato"

Hôtel Sole Mare

"The hotel is well located near a small beach and very close to the citadel; everything is within walking distance. The hotel is clean and the staff are friendly. The pool is nice. We booked the budget room, but this room is very poorly located because, at the hotel entrance, the window has frosted glass (when open, there's a lot of foot traffic and the smell of cigarettes from people smoking as soon as they leave the hotel; when closed, it's very dark and therefore very dark). The room is quite damp because it can't be properly ventilated. The layout makes the room dark and gives it a "boxy" feel; there's a loggia with a table and the window (it can't really be called a veranda). However, at night it's light inside because of the lights from the hotel entrance; there are no shutters, just a curtain between the room and the loggia. This room should be avoided for several nights; it's only suitable for short stays. Breakfast is good quality, but it's not self-service (one pastry and one roll, one fruit compote, one yogurt, clementine juice – no extra bread provided). Parking is available for an additional fee. The hotel is fairly quiet once guests have left; except for the last night when the night porter was quite noisy with his very late-night phone conversations!"

"Ali and his team are amazing. They made our stay comfortable and he keeps the grounds immaculate! From check-in to check-out we were treated as family. There are also long-term residents here who are super helpful and kind! We will be coming back!"
