First two night visit for family wedding in Calne and really enjoyed our stay. Arrived late after very long drive, but made very welcome by the manager. Our room was well appointed, clean, bed comfortable and quiet - in a seperate annex at the back of the pub. We could charge our EV (app needed) and enjoyed a lovely meal on the first night with wonderful cooked breakfasts each day. Village of Compton Basset was lovely too. Warmly recommended!

We visited for Sunday roast and all lovely meals, great quality and lovely friendly service . Will visit again . Food was an excellent quality and plenty of it . Perfect place for a family Sunday lunch

We stayed here for a weekend break. The initial greeting from Ash on arrival was lovely - warm and friendly. We had room 3 which is a small double with en suite. It is well furnished with 2 chairs and a reasonable view across a grassy open bank. The room was well decorated and furnished. Good quality tea/coffee in the room. The rooms are situated away from the main building so nice and quiet, apart from other guests. The full English breakfast was gorgeous - well cooked and a great start to the day. Great coffee too. Small downside - no cereal/fruit/yogurt options, although granola or krispies were available on request. Although we didn't eat in, I think it would have been a great experience. I did have a pudding on arrival on the first night - rhubarb and custard. Don't be fooled by the name. It was a confection of mousse, hidden in a glazed shell and beautifully decorated with Italian meringue. It was glorious! At night the skies around are very dark with little light pollution so beautiful views of the stars and the milky way. Service was a little slow at times but Ash works long hours and is always willing to help. Would definitely stay again.

Stayed for two nights B&B following a bad experience at another premises. Lovely rooms, great breakfast, good service. Did not have the opportunity to sample lunch menu or evening restaurant. Ample parking. Free wi-fi.

Pleasant bar and restaurant, with friendly staff and good beer. The rooms are good and well appointed. We dined in the restaurant which was very nice a welcoming, the food options were a little limited but the food was good. The bar is very busy and pleasant, with some good beer on offer. Overall a very positive experience.
