Chateau de VIE

We were lucky enough to have the chateau to ourselves for the weekend. Amazing property with an amazing host who made us feel at home. The breakfast was a nice touch in the morning. Will definitely be back if we ever visit Napa Valley again!

Loved the pool and hot tub as well as scenic views. Breakfast was wonderful and close proximity to town.

This is one of the best properties we’ve ever stayed in! It’s very close to a number of vineyards and we were able to use the local Calistoga vineyard shuttle bus to get between Chateau de Vie and the vineyards. We visited in April and had the whole chateau to ourselves! The accommodation was incredibly clean and our host was very welcoming. The breakfast they made for us was incredible. The chateau also has a great hot tub and pool. We really loved our stay and would love to visit again when we’re next in California.

Staff was amazing, attention to detail was impeccable. Nelva was very nice, very thoughtful, warm & personable.

We had a relaxing and special time at Chateau Du Vie. Peter was the perfect host being helpful and providing great local knowledge whilst overseeing a quiet and private retreat from the hubbub of the region. The breakfasts prepared by Phillipe were delicious too. Rooms are comfortable and cool in the Californian heat. The setting for the house is quite perfect- lots of cooling green garden under the canopy of some mature trees over looking the tiny vineyard. Thank you we had a memorable time.

We attended a wedding in Calistoga and stayed in the Carriage House room at Chateau de Vie. Peter met us in the darling bed and breakfast house where we did not have to sign in or do any paperwork. He showed us the hot tub and pool in the gorgeous French-style gardens and then to our room. We had a private deck, table and chairs that looked out onto two acres of vineyards, where we could sit and enjoy our wine and cheese plate that was brought to us. Breakfasts are amazing! Felipe created delicious meals each morning that I have never had while staying in a four star hotel. It is one of a kind, peaceful, charming, unique and beautiful place to stay in Calistoga! The state park is up the road for forest hikes with babbling creeks. Lovely!

Chateau de Vie captured our hearts and will always leave us with the longing to return! The owners, Felipe and Peter, made us feel so welcomed and EVERYTHING in your stay is PERFECTION! To be honest, we have never spent so much on a nights stay. It was our first vacation together alone in 37 years and we booked our stay at Chateau de Vie based on their high online reviews. CHATEAU DE VIE was the BEST splurge and will always be our highlight to our 37th anniversary! They have earned their 5-STARS and we left knowing we have to come back! Peter greeted us upon arrival and before we even got our luggage carried into our King Carriage Suite….he had two glasses of Cabernet Sauvignon (which was excellent and came from their own vineyard) and a charcuterie plate filled with local cheese, crackers, dried fruits and nuts was waiting for us on our patio table! We were only in the Calistoga area for one day as we passed thru to the end of our Napa Valley vacation. Peter gave us tips on the best dining places and we enjoyed a walk thru the vineyard area in the evening. We recommend at least a 2-night stay, as we both felt rushed and did not have enough time to soak in all the areas surrounding Chateau de Vie and Calistoga. As far as dining out, we took the hosts suggestion, Calistoga Inn. We loved the outdoor dining and family friendly setting! The Jamaican ****ed Chicken and Niman Ranch Pork Chop was excellent! Forget about finding a place to eat breakfast…..our chateau host Felipe will take care of you!!!! *****Felipe, you are chasing after that Michelin Star with that breakfast!!!!! You will never know how much I appreciated your need to see that my “gluten-free” request was fulfilled. It was honestly the only time I have eaten a gluten-free breakfast that I enjoyed! Thank you so much for sharing your recipes too ;) We left with one day of memories from this chateau that will surely last a lifetime! Peter and Felipe, THANK YOU…for being such genuine and generous hosts! 5 STARS…well deserved!

I have stayed in a number of places and this place is as good as it gets. Don't get fooled by the 3star rating. This is wine country excellence, and whoever assigns star ratings needs to change this to a 4.5 or 5 star accommodation. The rooms are spacious and beds are very comfortable. We made use of the high quality robe each day. The real gem of this place is the couple running it. Their hospitality is second to none and every little need was met. The breakfast is stellar and gourmet. The ambiance is calming and serene. You will not regret any part of your stay.
