Hotel in zona Levada e a lagoa do Serrado., Calheta

Je suis très partagé par cet établissement. D'un côté, l'emplacement est parfait. A la fois sur l'île car il permet d'accéder à toute l'île très rapidement par les voies rapides, alors que situé à bonne distance de Funchal. Isolé, l'endroit est parfaitement calme. La vue est époustouflante au bord d'un apique vertigineux. Le couchés de soleil sont justes splendides. Côté hostellerie, nous étions dans les appartements sous le bâtiment principal. C'est grand et bien équipé. Mal insonorisés, on entend tout ce qui se passe à côté... Mais c'est propre bien que défraichi, et le ménage quotidien est bien fait. Pas de Wifi en dehors de l'établissement principal. A notre époque c'est quand même dommage. Côté accueil, aucun effort particulier n'est fait. Que cela soit à l'accueil, dans le restaurant. Pas de sourires... êtes-vous content de faire ce boulot ? C'est à se demander. Quel dommage ! Côté restauration. Au secours. Il faut réserver avant 13h pour le diner au restaurant. Enfin, à la cantine plutôt. Vous serez en présence d'un buffet. Les plats sont approximatifs, sans imagination, sans soin ni techniques de base. Tout est insipide. Au petit déjeuner, les pains peuvent dater de la veille. Les croissants : mieux vaut ne pas en proposer lorsque c'est si mauvais, voir rassit. Le soir la terrasse qui offre un décor de rêve, serait certainement pleine, si un service souriant, et avec quelques boissons un peu imaginatives étaient proposées. Mais rien de tout ça... Bref pour y dormir entre deux journées de randonnées, c'est top. Pour le reste...

Bell'hotel all'altezza delle aspettative. Posizione eccellente a Calheta, proprio su una spiaggia di sabbia dorata, con accesso diretto dall'hotel. È ideale avere un'auto poiché è a 30 minuti da Funchal. Vale la pena pagare un extra per avere una camera con vista sul mare La qualità e la quantità del cibo sono conformi al pacchetto all-inclusive, così come le bevande. Animazione quotidiana e varia. Buona spa con piscina riscaldata, bagno turco, sauna e docce fredde. Area piscina all'aperto molto piacevole, con molti lettini e ben progettata. Ping pong gratuito, biliardo a pagamento (3€/ora). Ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo.

I was looking at my reviews on TripAdvisor when I saw my previous review of this hotel where I gave it 4 stars. Still not bad of course, but I wanted to write another review as me and my husband have been back to Saccharum twice(!) after my first review. So I thought about writing a new review. This is now our favorite hotel on Madeira, as it’s not as crowded like a lot of hotels in Funchal. Calheta is beautiful and not crowded at all. We really appreciate privacy and a calm environment when we go on holiday, and Saccharum is great for this! Sometimes restaurants are packed with other tourists and you’re seated a couple centimeters away from other guests but here at Saccharum you can eat all relaxed in whatever restaurant of the hotel you please. We really like the bar next to the sea, Calhau. They have nice vegetarian options for me. Also everything is clean and hygiene is great. That’s so important to me. So after our new experiences at this hotel I’ve wanted to change my 4-star review into a 5-star review. We are now planning to take my parents to Madeira in October of this year to show them this beautiful island, and we will be staying at Saccharum!

This is a lovely hotel in a nice peaceful setting right by the sea. Whatever room you have there is a sea view and it is amazing. The staff were all lovely, friendly and helpful especially Lydia and Thiago in the restaurant. We stayed bed and breakfast but we did have a few evening meals which we paid for and were very nice. It is a buffet but everything was nicely presented. There is not a lot of night life here but that suited us fine but we did frequent a bar called Porto de Abrigo most nights which actually sold Alt beer which is a bitter and not a lager. You can also taste local Madeira wines for free if you want to. It is run by Raphael and Carlos who were very nice and friendly. We did go to Funchal for the day and went on the cable car ride and the toboggan ride and that was fun. This hotel is very quiet and probably would not suit you if you have children as there is not a lot for them to do. The only disappointment for us was that the Jacuzzi was not working during our two week stay which is one of the reasons why I booked this hotel. The Receptionist said they are waiting for a part. Also there is no tea or coffee making facilities in the rooms. However the room was nice and clean and has good air conditioning. I cannot fault this hotel it is lovely and I would definitely stay here again and would definitely recommend it!

Stunning place in a beautiful valley surrounded by mountains and close to the ocean. Staff was very friendly and helpful, we also received a welcome drink and enjoyed our walks and surroundings to the fullest 💚💚💚 will be back for longer stay as we unfortunately stayed only for a night.

Hotel au milieu de la montagne, jolies vues, très bons repas, personnel très gentil Un peu vieux en terme de deco, nous avons eu froid dans la pièce commune et en dormant (manque de couverture), lit très inconfortable…

Abbiamo prenotato in questo hotel dopo aver letto alcune recensioni positive su internet L' hotel è discreto ma a mio avviso non merita il prezzo che fa pagare né i giudizi alti ottenuti finora. Spiego il motivo. All' arrivo ci hanno consegnato la prima camera della fila al piano terra e davanti al balcone abbiamo trovato dei pannelli che coprivano completamente la vista della baia. Abbiamo chiesto di cambiae la stanza e ci è stata consegnata l' ultima della fila. Anche questa presentava una vista sulla baia molto limitata e davanti al balcone era presenta un cantiere di lavoro. L' abbiamo accettata per non fare i noiosi sperando che non ci fossero altri problemi. Purtroppo se ne sono presentati altri. Tutti i giorni gli operai del cantiere ci svegliava con i loro rumori proprio davanti al balcone. Il primo giorno al nostro arrivo abbiano trovato una cazzuola da muratore dentro l' armadio e l' abbiamo consegnata alla reception. Alcune luci della camera non funzionavano e abbiamo chiesto la sostituzione. Abbiamo trovato uno scarafaggio gigante nel pavimento del bagno. Alla nostra partenza, molto presto al mattino, abbiamo chiesto un cestino di colazione e si sono dimenticati di prepararlo. Ci è arrivata una mail di scuse per la mancanza del cestino quando eravamo già partiti anziché rimediare durante il soggiorno . Sono stati diversi problemi non gravi per fortuna. Altre cose fortunatamente sono andate bene, come la pulizia della camera e la colazione ricchissima. Per la cifra pagata e per il giudizio positivo dell'albergo però i mostri problemi non dovevano capitare; sarebbe stato meglio intervenire durante il soggiorno anziché mandare una mail di scuse dopo la partenza; il cliente merita maggiore attenzione. Mi dispiace.

I cannot say enough about what a wonderful time my husband and I had staying here. The staff at the hotel was warm and welcoming and could not do enough to make our stay exceptional. The room we had allowed us both a sea and garden view and I recommend that you book one of those. The view of the sea is breathtaking. We also took advantage of a couple of the classes they offered and made our own bread which we took to our dinner later. Dinner at the restaurant was really good. We ate the a la carte options and enjoyed all three dinners we had there. The service of Shafayet was exceptional and he deserves a mention here. The pizza from the pizza place was also a great choice for a more relaxed bite. Overall this hotel was a beautiful relaxed place to spend a few days.
