Hotel in zona Levada do Cabo (Ponta do Pargo), Calheta

Ho visitato questo hotel prima della recente ristrutturazione e vorrei conoscere questi cambiamenti. Sono molto sorpreso! Mi piace molto il concetto aperto di reception, bar, ristorante e la sua decorazione. Ho sottolineato le modifiche apportate alla camera: decorazione, comfort e servizi extra (tè, caffè, champagne e minibar). Mi piace la piscina costruita sulla terrazza e l'area circostante. La colazione è ottima e mi piace l'idea del menu della cena. Il personale è molto cordiale e attento. Congratulazioni! ! ! ?

Bell'hotel all'altezza delle aspettative. Posizione eccellente a Calheta, proprio su una spiaggia di sabbia dorata, con accesso diretto dall'hotel. È ideale avere un'auto poiché è a 30 minuti da Funchal. Vale la pena pagare un extra per avere una camera con vista sul mare La qualità e la quantità del cibo sono conformi al pacchetto all-inclusive, così come le bevande. Animazione quotidiana e varia. Buona spa con piscina riscaldata, bagno turco, sauna e docce fredde. Area piscina all'aperto molto piacevole, con molti lettini e ben progettata. Ping pong gratuito, biliardo a pagamento (3€/ora). Ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo.

I was looking at my reviews on TripAdvisor when I saw my previous review of this hotel where I gave it 4 stars. Still not bad of course, but I wanted to write another review as me and my husband have been back to Saccharum twice(!) after my first review. So I thought about writing a new review. This is now our favorite hotel on Madeira, as it’s not as crowded like a lot of hotels in Funchal. Calheta is beautiful and not crowded at all. We really appreciate privacy and a calm environment when we go on holiday, and Saccharum is great for this! Sometimes restaurants are packed with other tourists and you’re seated a couple centimeters away from other guests but here at Saccharum you can eat all relaxed in whatever restaurant of the hotel you please. We really like the bar next to the sea, Calhau. They have nice vegetarian options for me. Also everything is clean and hygiene is great. That’s so important to me. So after our new experiences at this hotel I’ve wanted to change my 4-star review into a 5-star review. We are now planning to take my parents to Madeira in October of this year to show them this beautiful island, and we will be staying at Saccharum!

Stunning place in a beautiful valley surrounded by mountains and close to the ocean. Staff was very friendly and helpful, we also received a welcome drink and enjoyed our walks and surroundings to the fullest 💚💚💚 will be back for longer stay as we unfortunately stayed only for a night.

Painted different colours on the outside, this is one long hotel on the inside. We were upgraded to a room with a balcony which was fabulous. Very large room, handy fridge. Huge TV. It’s very relaxing to sit and watch the world go by here. We never even made it to the official roof terrace or other hotel amenities. We did pop out for an easy stroll to see the old bridge. (I wished I’d dressed for the possibility that water might drip while walking through the tunnel to get there). Then more lounging on the balcony, watching the sunset. They had the largest selection of breakfast choices that we saw in Madeira. I especially liked the made-to-order fluffy pancakes, which I had with baked apple from the buffet and squirty Nutella. Mmmm! The cook was also made omelettes on request. Coffee is from an automatic machine but it grinds the beans for each cup. As self service machines go, it was the fanciest we saw on our trip. We noticed many people eating in the touristy joints overlooking the sea. Why pay “saw you coming” prices for questionable quality when you could just stay at this hotel and enjoy the view from the balcony without hassle? We had the best dinner of our stay in the town, at Sol Doce. The underground parking is a sharp angle to get into. The receptionist recommended turning around at the end of the road, and approaching from that direction. I think this is good advice, based on what we saw from the balcony. Cars come around the corner very quickly. Lots of cars turn around in front of the tunnel.

Ottima scelta per il nostro soggiorno a Madera. L'hotel si trova in un giardino botanico naturale - alcuni lo contano come un minus, ma non sono d'accordo. Al nostro arrivo, al 2AM - il costo del bolt era 25USD (31kms). Ottimo servizio, molto pulito, molte attività e personale amichevole. Completamente raccomandato.

Questo hotel potrebbe essere stato un 4 stelle negli anni '60 o '70, ma non è sicuramente uno adesso! Il ”spa” non è utile! Il balcone nella stanza era grande con una vista meravigliosa ma era pieno e ha bisogno di una lavaggio di pressione seria! I mobili sono adeguati ma molto bassi e vecchi! La stanza stessa è stata mantenuta pulita ma sicuramente mostra la sua età e ci sono stati numerosi tinture d'acqua sui tetti e sulle pareti con alcune zone molde. In generale l'hotel è stanco e indossato! La qualità del colazione è imbarazzantemente cattiva in ogni modo immaginabile! Il servizio e il cibo nella sala da pranzo della sera erano buoni. Gli anziani dell'hotel sono molto pochi e sembrano fare il meglio che possono nelle circostanze. La posizione è interessante e vale la pena di visitare, ma consiglierei solo un viaggio di giorno evitando questo triste istituto.

L'albergo è bello e moderno. Ci sono però alcuni aspetti che mi hanno lasciato perplesso ed altri che non mi sono piaciuti. Partiamo dagli ascensori che sono piccoli e assolutamente insufficienti per gestire 15 piani. La capienza limitata di 4 persone costringe a delle attese interminabili e soffocanti. Se avete problemi di claustrofobia sono guai. In più circostanze mi sono trovato a fare fermate ad ogni piano con l'ascensore già pieno e mi sono sentito male, per il caldo, gli odori e la mancanza di spazio. La colazione è ricchissima e abbondante ed è un vero punto di forza. Per chi ama la colazione continentale c'è un'infinità di scelta, con preparazioni fatte al momento. Ho letto una recensione che lamentava la mancanza dell'angolo per i toast. Non è vero. L'area c'è ed è davvero ricca. Attenzione agli orari, se arrivate quando arrivano i gruppi organizzati c'è il caos. Per chi ama la colazione dolce tipo italiana, l'offerta è un po' limitata, ma nel complesso non ci si può assolutamente lamentare. Non si capisce come mai non mettono a disposizione le tazzine piccole per l'espresso e le si devono richiedere al personale di sala che ve le porta come qualcosa di speciale. La piscina sembra quella condominiale, incastonata tra i fabbricati e con le piastrelle nere (non molto invitante a dire il vero) i lettini tutti rivolti verso l'oceano (che non si vede se non a distanza) danno le spalle alla piscina stessa. L'ultima fila (che poi sarebbe la prima se rivolti all'oceano) è praticamente sulla strada sottostante (siamo al terzo piano). Un'ultima segnalazione sgradevole, seduto sulla poltrona davanti al bar della Hall, sono stato punto da insetti che potrebbero essere delle pulci o acari di qualche tipo. Forse sarebbe bene fare una disinfestazione o sostituire il tessuto delle poltroncine. Il minibar è vuoto. Non offre nulla.
