We spent one night in Caldes de Reims at Hotel Via XIX. The hotel is centrally located, on the Camino Portuguese and a beautiful boutique hotel. We arrived after a tough day on the Camino and a full day in driving rain. Checkin is up on the second level and we felt horrible as we were soaked and drippy. The staff was understanding and helped us get to our room. After drying and sorting, we were please to learn that the hotel has a small laundry facility for guests. We promptly got our wet cloths to the washer and dryer and set out to find dinner. The hotel is nicely located, but we did not venture far for food and supplies. The morning came quickly and breakfast was set for specific times to ensure service. It was pleasant and appreciated. After breakfast, we dropped our bags and headed back out into the rain. This time with ponchos to help keep us dry. Thank you to the kind staff at the Hotel Via XIX for making our stay comfortable.

Just got back from my Camino. Came to XIX during the hurricane Kirk. This is the absolute best hotel for my entire camino. Prior to staying at XIX, I was at a "fancy" hotel in Pontevedra and had such a disappointing experience! When I walked in the door of XIX, I was welcomed by welcomed by Mercedes. The room is beautifully done, small but typical. The next day I was woken up by a wonderful small of food! It was the best breakfast spread I have had! I will never forget such warmth and hospitality! Caldais de Reis, because of XIX, became my favorite Camino town!

This was our second stay at the Via XIX, and I highly recommend staying here if you plan to spend a night or two in Caldas de Reis The rooms are clean, comfortable and modern. We were in a superior double room that had lovely balconies overlooking the street. The beds were the most comfortable we had during our entire trip – slightly plush but firm enough to be supportive. The room is well-lit with plenty of available electrical outlets. Breakfast was included in the room rate. For those of you on the Camino, Via XIX has free laundry facilities, located in a secure building (you need your room key to access the facilities) just 25 meters from the hotel. Mercedes is a wonderful hostess and is a pleasure to interact with.

This hotel was booked by Santiago Ways as part of our Camino travel. What a wonderful, delightful, and clean place after another day of walking! The welcome, rooms, location, and breakfast were all elevated experiences. The location is central, and there is a public warm water foot soaking area nearby. Our dinner was located in a nearby restaurant and was filled with many pilgrims....a fun experience. We would highly recommend this place.

This hotel is an incredible place to stay in Caldas de Reis. The rooms are modern, appear to be recently-updated, comfortable, and are very close to many dining options. The balconies overlooking the street provide a great view. The room rate is a bargain, at least when my wife and I stayed there. Included in the room price is access to free laundry facilities just around the corner from the hotel. Mercedes was a wonderful host and made some great recommendations for dinner and breakfast locations. There is no on-site parking if you’re visiting by car, but there are multiple free municipal parking lots nearby. I highly recommend the VIA XIX and would definitely stay there again.

The Via XIX is centrally located in the heart of town. We were warmly greeted by Mercedes when we arrived. Our room was bright with French doors overlooking the pedestrian way. Doors could be opened for fresh air or air conditioning was more than adequate to keep the room cool and quiet. Nice furnishings and updated bathroom. Beds were large and comfortable. No problems with internet. Breakfasts were more than complete with hot and cold items, baked goods, cheeses and meats. Food and beverages were plentiful and the breakfast room was cheerful. Since we walked the Camino, an evening meal was included down the street at Roquino. The food there was good, the service was friendly and it was just a short walk away. All the Via XIX staff were delightful. ...the owners, kitchen & serving staff, as well as housekeeping. We felt very welcome and well taken care of . We recommend Via XIX without hesitation.

No se puede hacer el checkin antes de las 15 h. Cuando llegas a las 15 h te reúnen en un salón y uno por uno van haciendo el checkin. A nosotros nos tocó a las 16 h, pero había familia que aún les tocaba esperar. No entiendo si está orientado al peregrino, que lleges al pueblo súper cansado tras la caminata sobre 13 h, que hagan esperar tanto tiempo para poder descansar en una habitación. Deberían cambiar la hora de recibir a los peregrinos… es mi modesta opinión …

Es un sitio maravilloso. La persona que nos recibió, si no recuerdo mal era Mercedes, fue un encanto de persona, nos recibió de forma súper educada, cordial nos dio recomendaciones para disfrutar de ese día en Caldas. Todo súper limpio, las habitaciones espectaculares, con fruta y galletitas, las camas muy cómodas,... Lástima solo pasar allí una noche!!!! Súper recomendable!!!!!!!
