Les Secrets des Loges

We stayed one night after arriving on the shuttle from England. This is such and interesting B and B. Fabulous hosts. We booked the 3 course dinner which we would highly recommend. Lovely breakfast with delightful local cheese and ham. Bedroom lovely but next time we would ask for a room with a larger bed or two singles.

Stayed here for one night stopover on way back to UK (thought we'd have a look at Calais for once instead of just driving though it) & wished we could have stayed for longer! We had the Lady Hamilton room at the front of the building - spotlessly clean, full of character and a very comfy bed. No air-con but windows opened fully & a fan was available. Lovely view of the old theatre from the windows too. 20 minutes or so walk from the beach & lots of places to eat nearby if needed - a 3-course evening meal made by Laurent is available at the accommodation though which is excellent value. Hosts Laurent & Nathalie were great - it felt like staying with friends. Only wished we'd stayed here at the beginning of our holiday too instead of the Premier Inn at Dover! Thoroughly recommended and will definitely stay here again (hopefully for longer) if driving to Europe. Their cats are fab too 😻 (don't worry if you're not a cat lover, they never go into the bedrooms and, like most cats, will keep to themselves!)

I had a short but great overnight stop at Les Secrets des Loges in Calais. Everything was great. They had a convenient storage garage 50 meters away for my motorcycle and they recommended a great seafood restaurant in the old part of the city.

We had an excellent overnight stay here on our way home from our holiday in France. It is ideally located for the Channel ferries and the tunnel and within easy walking distance of the town centre, its bars and restaurants. Speaking of restaurants, we highly recommend giving them a miss and dining with Natalie and Laurent. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner with them and 2 other guests. Laurent is a professional chef/teacher, and it shows! Dinner was great, as was the company. The house is quirky and absolulutely fascinating, and Laurent and Nathalie are superb hosts. The experience felt more like staying with friends, and we highly recommend it.

A new overnight stop for us but definitely one we will repeat. Nathalie and Laurent are very helpful and friendly and we enjoyed the opportunity to speak with them over dinner and with other guests over breakfast. Breakfast was very good though in future we would order less! After a very long day's travel, it was really nice not to have to go out to find a meal. We are always grateful when establishments accept our dogs and on this occasion they were a bit yappy and needy, but we didn't feel it was a problem. As there are residen cats, I was slightly concerned but we managed to avoid any confrontations! It is a pretty quartier, close to the very beautiful theatre with attractive planting. We realised that we had underestimated Calais as a worthwhile place to stay for more than a night before heading south. As we have family in the Alps, it is likely we will use Les Secrets again. The only wrinkle was that on arrival there was no outside parking. We decided to take the garage option but it was very tight getting out Volvo XC70 in. Of course by the time we returned from garaging it, there were spaces outside!

A very nice quaint property. Great hosts and the breakfast was great. Perfect for an overnight stop in Calais.

Quaint place with friendly owner(s). Quite a lot of traffic in the area, seems to be the case in all of Calais. I am sure there is more in mid summer.

Had a lovely one night stay to start our journey in Normandy. They warmly welcomed us and made ourselves really at home. Breakfast is nice, particularly freshly squeezed orange juice by them and their home made yogurt, which were quite tasty. Much more memorable and nicer experience than staying at boring chain hotels owned by the big companies.
