Gavimar Ariel Chico Hotel and Apartments

Just come back from a week at this hotel first time abroad for 20yrs a brilliant time was had ! The food was great each night there was something different to try everything was always good really tasty the complex was very clean and staff was always friendly big shout out to the entertainment team they was always engaging with everyone and work damn hard,pool facilities was fantastic,beach just a stones throw away quite small and have to get there very early if you want a lounger we got there at 9.30 and they was all gone, there's a nice place for cocktails just down the road the tropical gardens live entertainment every night

We have just arrived back from a ten day stay here,booking via Jet2,if you are intending booking, the brochure photo doesn't tell you everything. We had booked the all inclusive package,myself,wife & two teenage daughters. We arrived late on the Tuesday evening,via the transport from Palma. Group of noisy Germans in front of us,once gone we were able to get booked in. We was firstly given a room,above the reception area,once in,this wasn't for us,two single beds,sofa bed,almost touching,no space to walk around,no real storage space,bathroom acceptable,small balcony area,which looked out onto a dirty/dusty flat roof, this wasn't what i paid for. We were straight back down to reception,nothing they could do that late on,but could we go back at 11am the morning after. Without unpacking we headed for breakfast,which starts at 8am. Buffet style,cereals,fruit,continental or cooked breakfast,bacon i a bit to be desired,even sprout & cauliflower on some days.. Also,freshly made pancakes,hot drinks as well as the usual fruit juices on offer,put it this way,you won't starve,but go early before the morning rush & go for a table first. The room,we were given a choice of two,one the same as the first,just on a higher floor,or pay/upgrade to a self-catering studio,lounge,with sofa beds,kitchen/dining area,with separate bedroom & bathroom...(Sold)we took it,this was lower down by the crazy golf. As i say,the brochure doesn't say that this is on two complex areas,another set of rooms & building on the opposite side of the road,you can also ust thr facilities in the other Gavimar hotels. So now sorted we headed for the pool,apparently three? One isn't being used,because of the flooring around it(Cover it with AstroTurf) a plunge pool,round the back,then the main pool. This opens at 10am,if you want a sunbed then join the queue,i wa there,along with a few others at 8.30am(which I didn't mind,as we all got talking,which passed the time) to get a decent spot,if your late you'll struggle,not really enough beds or parasols for everyone to use,be warned. Sign for pool rules on the wall,no floats. Pool bar area opens around 11am,drinks & snacks available,some drinks are charged for. Entertainment is on during the day,water aerobics,polo,kids games,demonstrations,evening shows,we didn't see these,choosing to go out instead. Overall this is in a great location,beach is close by,shops & bars just up the road,quick walk away..Staff very helpful & friendly as you'd want. But don't go over expecting,take it as it is 3☆☆☆
