Protur Bonamar Hotel - Adults Only

Good points: - clean and well maintained; - good location convenient for restaurants etc; - plenty sunbeds and every one of them gets sun all day so need to get up before sunrise (though amazingly two couples did every day !); - breakfast extensive and good standard (so good, one couple tipped all the pastries into their beach bag and filled bottles with juice and milk every morning !?!); - staff all pleasant and helpful; - get a front facing room, otherwise a lot of the side rooms look out onto another hotel. Weak points: - room aircon a bit variable; - evening meal is average at best - be prepared to eat out a lot; - only one lift; - if you rent a car, make it a small one as parking is often non-existent in this area; - Natalie, the woman with the voice like polystyrene rubbed on glass, who makes an appearance three times a day to disturb the peace with some inane activity, like hupla, which virtually no-one takes part in.

We have just come back from an amazing stay at the Bonamar. The hotel was clean and modern with great facilities and hard working staff. The outside pool area was lovely and there were always sun beds available any time of the day. The buffet food options for breakfast were extensive and the evening dining options were varied. Every member of the team was welcoming and helpful and we really enjoyed our holiday. The location is perfect between lots of bars and restaurants and two beaches. We hope to return next Summer.

I’m sad to be writing this review purely because I wish we were still enjoying our wonderful week at the Protur Bonamar Hotel, but all good things must come to an end. Myself & my fiancé, Emily found this hotel when we sat down with a travel agent. After scrolling through a few options, we spotted the Bonamar and the pictures drew us in immediately. Stunning scenery, the ideal location for walks and restaurants, modern rooms, great facilities and in house daily entertainment. So as for the actual week, to start with, there has to be a number of names who deserve their fair share of praise! Firstly, on reception, Victoria. Wessex received a lovely welcome from her on arrival, with a complimentary drink which was a lovely touch. After a long, tiring day of travelling Victoria’s warming smile and clear explanations of how the hotel worked were just what we needed and helped us feel at home from the get go. Thank you Victoria! Then you have the bar and restaurant staff! Mariano - The Restaurant Manager, made us feel right at home when we went down to our first dinner, he explained how the hotel lay on themed nights for dinner services and the flexibility you had if you fancied changing your sitting throughout your holiday. Throughout our stay we had Mexican, Italian and Indian just to name a few. Mariano always had a smile on his face whenever we saw him, and I could tell how much he cares about his colleagues, guests & the hotel itself. Oscar - A very friendly waiter and someone who appreciated my efforts in speaking the Spanish lingo!! Aside from that, like all the restaurant staff, working their long hours, Oscar always had a smile on his face and was very attentive throughout our meals in the restaurant, with clearly our plates and serving us drinks. I hope people like Oscar get the praise they deserve. Abdullah - We always enjoyed a laugh and a joke with Abdullah, as it soon became apparent how much ice I was ordering at the bar, I was known as ‘Ice Man.’ Another hardworking member of the team. Miguel - How could anyone not mention Miguel! I’ve heard other guests say how previously Miguel was a bit quiet and shy, but this didn’t show during our stay. He was hilariously funny especially during the bingo evenings. Someone who I believe will go far and have a great career. Manu - Similar to Miguel, but as the Bar Manager, what a lovely guy! His involvement in the Charity Bingo was very entertaining, with his running commentary of the numbers he wanted read out, before his humorous claims of calling ‘bingo.’ I could also see throughout the week Manu is highly respected by his team, and so he should be! One last Bar staff name, her name I cannot remember sadly, but you will know who she is from her wonderful Disney Tattoo sleeve and her Italian charm. We stayed at end of October one week, Rooms we found basic for 4 star ,a rail between 2 walls as a wardrobe toilet and shower a glass shelter so if with a friend bit much going loo etc. Victoria receptionist brilliant Bar staff brilliant entertainment acts very good, We had a big fella threaten us on Saturday night, subsequently he was kicked out of hotel and sent home. What my problem was no security in hotel (11.30pm) only a poor young lad on reception Bar staff had gone 11.15 The bloke who was massive could have wrecked the place ? Next day we had conversations with tui rep, Victoria who said they would report. But what I couldn't believe Natalie (entertainment ) or management never spoke to us asked if we were ok etc next day. My wife and other guest lady were shaken Very poor

A great hotel with lovely staff, felt very comfortable and relaxed Cleaners came in everyday Entertainment was excellent, every night we were there, thanks to the lovely Natalie who made it fun throughout. Enjoyed the game if bingo every night too. Would definitely return, no problem

This hotel is really good , all areas spotless , rooms are modern with fridge and kettle tea and coffee , staff are all without exception brilliant , Victoria on reception was particularly helpful to us , food was of a good standard with a wide variety of choice to suit most tastes , plenty of sun beds and others areas to relax a very nice roof terrace with infinity pool and very quiet , the position is central with beautiful views across the sea , we stayed in a standard side sea view room but it was on the side that over looked a quiet side road , would have preferred other side overlooking pool but we did get afternoon sun so depends what you prefer , the entertainment seemed average we went out most nights all in all wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again
