Logis Hôtel-Restaurant les Charmilles

We used this hotel as a stopover on our way home from the south of France. It’s only good point was its proximity to the A6. The room was tired and uncomfortable. The shower cubicle and toilet had not been thoroughly cleaned. Although the Logis hotel guide stated the restaurant was gourmand standard the chef was on holiday so only a very limited menu was available. The waiting staff were less than attentive. Some renovation was apparent due to cabling hanging in the corridor outside our room. Thank goodness we only stayed one night. Will give this a miss in future.

Just out of the motorway, still quiet, nice building and reception. The room was OK, bathroom Spartan, no shower curtain, no toilet paper stand! We had a nice chat at the reception bar with a glass of good sparkling wine before dinner, the the problems started: we had no common language with the personnel, who ran away every time we tried to make an order. The Hungarian receptionist was the only one we could communicate, somehow the timing did not work; the wines ( excellent) came late, far after the courses. About hte courses: starters were good, steak stiff, cheeses excellent with the red that came late.

We were welcomed adequately and given information about the room and possibility to dine in the restaurant. The room on the first floor was slightly small and in need of some refurbishing. The shower without any closure means that the water will splash everywhere inside the small bathroom. Dinner was served in the rather dark restaurant, quality was acceptable and price adequate. I found the wine, which we drank by the glass slightly overpriced. Breakfast was minimalistic, served on a rather grim looking buffet and with minimal choice. On the plus side the staff was welcoming and friendly, on the minus point the hotel and, restaurant, room and grounds look in need of a major refurbishment.

Although an extremely bad room it is probably one of the better ones we have experienced in France. Access to the room was up a very dodgy staircase. Couldn't get the room door to open so asked at reception. The lady pulled the door towards her and then rammed her shoulder against it to open! You not strong she said 😂 The room we were told had been newly decorated so goodness knows what it was like before. The bed was comfortable, bathroom exceptionally basic. Toilet tucked back in a tiny alcove then the shower in front. No shower tray, it was like a wet room! Reception lady was very nice and helpful. Evening meal was in a conservatory type area. The waiter was very good and the meal was excellent. We never ate breakfast so cannot comment on that. The 2 stars are for the shabby dangerous staircase (no lift) worn out landing and warped door. Staff very nice.

Wir waren als Paar mit dem Wohnmobil gen Süden unterwegs. Das Wohnmobil musste für eine Nacht in die Werkstatt, sodass wir für eben diese Nacht in ein Hotel mussten. An der Rezeption hat nach anfänglichen Sprachschwierigkeiten (wir sind aus Deutschland) alles geklappt, auch der Pre-Check-in am Vormittag. Das Zimmer war sehr einfach, aber zweckmäßig ausgestattet. Zu erwähnen ist noch das schön gemachte Restaurant mit einem wirklich hervorragenden Frühstück, welches wir am nächsten Morgen genossen haben.

Fuyez avec votre smartbox ailleurs ils ne sont pas en phase avec la réalité Ce restaurant refuse de vous servir un menu carte si vous avez un coffret cadeau... alors que tous les restau que nous avons fait le font et de plus AVEC PLAISIR puisque nous leur faisons gagner plus sur un repas.. eux non .. une carte menu smartbox point final... qui ne casse pas trois pattes à un canard un routier fait largement mieux ... PAS EN PHASE AVEC LA RÉALITÉ.. par contre vous pouvez commander sur la carte des vins (ex une bouteille à 120€) pour un repas smartbox obligé à même pas 15 € de saveur... Allez ailleurs c désolant de voir encore des restau si peu connecté... dommage le cadre pourrait être agréable l'été mais trop près de la route trop bruyant
