Red Rocker Inn

Red Rocker Inn was the perfect place to base out of for our college visit at Montreat College. We loved the breakfast (biscuits especially), the rooms/beds were comfortable, it was quiet, and we took advantage of the front porch. We enjoyed walking the neighborhood streets in the morning and evening, as well as walking into town for dinner. If we ever come back to that area, we will definitely stay there again!

We stayed in the Savannah, a lovely large room with a fireplace and sofa area as well as a king-sized bed. Everything was wonderful and quiet! We were meeting friends at the Red Rocker for a little reunion and the staff could not have been nicer and more accommodating! And the breakfast is to die for!

The new owners are doing a good job at maintaining the inn. The breakfast was good and tasteful and was veryfilling. It is a great location in Black Mountain with walking distance to downtown area and Lake Tomahawk. It is a great location to most of the places in western North Carolina (Biltmore, Blue Ridge Parkway, Mount Mitchell, multiple waterfalls NC and multiple state parksand national parks) just to list a few. The owners are very friendly and assistance travel needs. On our next visit to the region we will stay at the Red Rocker Inn.

We spent our anniversary here! So relaxing. Something about that porch swing and rockers. Hosts are very accommodating and breakfasts are delicious! Been coming here for years and have an awesome time each visit! Can’t wait for next visit.

My wife and I go to the Red Rocker a few times each year and always enjoy our time there. The owners are attentive to the needs of the guests, and we are always treated as if we are family. There are so many things to do and places to visit in the area -- just walking downtown in Black Mountain (a short walk from the Red Rocker), is a day in itself. Highly recommend the Red Rocker!

My wife and I were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary. Although we have stayed at the Red Rocker multiple times, our last stay was 30 years ago. We have always had great experiences and this time was no exception. Violet, the innkeeper, warmly welcomed us and took the time to give us a quick tour before showing us our room (appropriately, the Anniversary Room). It was wonderfully decorated and very comfortable. When we needed extra towels and soap, Violet personally delivered them within minutes of taking my call. Speaking of towels, the bath towels were the thickest we have ever had at any hotel or B&B. Breakfast was a little different than the family style of 30 years ago. However, there were many menu-based options. The food was excellent. One thing that always impressed me during previous stays was the friendliness and exceptional service during meals. I'm pleased to say this has not changed. While observing the owners and their wait staff interact with guests, every guest was treated as though they were the most important person dining. The Red Rocker serves dinner as well. I previously made the reservation online (a very easy process). There were many entrees from which to choose. My wife and I were extremely pleased with our meals. Krista, our server, was excellent. She even delivered a surprise gift for my wife which I had previously given to Violet to bring during dessert. Although our stay was short, we had a wonderful time in Black Mountain, made even more special by the staff and accommodations at the Red Rocker.
