The Fife Arms Hotel

A super wee hotel, very quirky. I was shown to my room by the mannie behind the bar, it's the smallest room I've ever seen but it did me nicely as a single guest. The windows made a great job shutting out the traffic noise of the A96 you couldn't hear a thing) I was told the TV was brand new but I couldn't get it working and the wifi password didn't work for me (but they aren't essential as I wasn't in the room for that long). There was a lovely wifie (Evelyn) who was making the rooms and cleaning, I had a lovely chat with her both mornings. Breakfast was continental downstairs which was a simple affair, toast cereal, drinks and a few extras. I look forward to returning again.

Positiv: Das „The Fife Arms Hotel“ ist sehr gemütlich und frisch renoviert mit einem tollen Badezimmer. Es handelt sich um ein „Self Service“ B&B, d.h. die Schlüssel lagen vor Ort für uns bereit. Im Frühstücksraum gab es Toast, Aufschnitt usw. Parken konnten wir an der Straße vor dem Haus. Negativ: Das B&B war etwas schwierig zu finden. Unser Navi gab die Anschrift direkt an der Hauptstraße an. Da war anscheinend mal eine Bar mit dem Namen „Fife Arms“, welche aber nicht mehr in Betrieb ist. Durch das Fenster war eine Baustelle zu sehen. Das B&B war dann zum Glück um die Ecke mit Eingang von einem kleinen Marktplatz. Der Schreck war aber erstmal groß. Ein Schild mit "Eingang um die Ecke" wäre hilfreich gewesen. Wir haben von Samstag auf Sonntag übernachtet. An Samstagen ist die Hauptstraße vor unserem Fenster anscheinend abends und nachts eine Rennstrecke mit röhrenden und knallenden Motoren. Es war wahnsinnig laut und wir haben schlecht geschlafen. Aber da kann das Hotel nichts dafür.
