Charles Wesley Motor Lodge Downtown Broken Bow- Hochatown

When I arrived the night clerk couldn't find my Agoda reservation. I'm not sure if he was having a bad night or if it was just his normal low level of hospitality/helpfulness but we soldiered on. Eventually he announced "Ok, I need a $100 security deposit for the room". No problem, I gave him my credit card. He said "No, has to be $100 cash". With vague answers about whether I'd get a receipt I asked him to please show me on the hotel's website where it said to bring $100 cash. He said "It's on there, I don't have to show you". It's NOT on the hotel website, Agoda's website, or Agoda's email. I didn't have $100 cash and he wouldn't give me my room. As I was thinking about where to find an ATM at 9:30PM I thought "why am I still here??". So I gave him an ill-received summary of his hospitality versus normal hotel practices and left. Just stay somewhere else, there's plenty of other good friendly hotels in Broken Bow.

Refrigerator was leaking causing carpet to be wet. I informed the office and when we came back, they had just put towels down. I did not like having to pay extra for bringing two other people with us. I’ve never experienced that at a hotel. The smoke detector was missing. We found it later laying on top of the microwave. Decent for a last minute trip but not worth the cost. The “white” towels had yellow stains on them so that was also sketchy.

Overall, my stay was perfectly fine. The hotel itself is old, but it’s clean. If you’re seeking luxury, this hotel is not for you, but if you need a clean comfy room at a great rate then book it. When I got there, the lady at the front desk was nice & helpful. I was a little disappointed at getting a second floor room when I had requested first floor, but it was fine. My only real complaint was parking. The majority of the more convenient parking was occupied by parked boats. It was a little aggravating especially having to trek past the boats just to get to the stairs w/ my bags.

Beautiful flower beds. Needs to update curtains and bedspreads but great remodel on the rooms and bathrooms.
