South Pacific Plaza

Having been in another Broadbeach apartment for a week prior, this complex ranked 100% better for less money. The staff were exceptional catering for our every need. Nothing was too much trouble. The property was clean and tidy and had lovely views over the park. Paying more on the Gold Coast does not always mean better service or facilities. Would recommend this property.

Positives first - this is a great location, across road from beach and lots of places to eat. Close to public transport. Pool is very nice, with a spa pool area. Rooms are light and airy, and we had a great view of the sea. We didn't use the tennis court or bbq, but they looked good. Negatives - this place is BADLY let down by reception. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon and couldn't get in! Check-in is supposedly 3pm, however, what they don't tell you is no one will be there, and you can't access the lobby. I pressed the outside intercom and got 3 different staff members who each told me a different story. After 2 hours of waiting outside with luggage, finally got a staff member on the phone who told me how to access "afterhours" keys to get in. This could have been so much easier with a simple email from staff before we arrived. I really don't understand why they have such limited reception times. Servicing is also only done if you stay longer than 8 days, so you will need to buy your own toilet paper, soap and coffee because reception won't give you any more, or clean your room either. Again, maybe they could put this information on the website. The lobby area needs a ramp put in too - hard to struggle up steps with a heavy suitcase, and I can't imagine that a person in a wheelchair would be able to access this place at all. Overall, this place could be great with some simple improvements, loved Broadbeach itself, but would stay elsewhere next time.

The room was great with beautiful views very good king sized bed and lovely furnishings. renovated recently to a high standard Wonderful location to everything you need no need to move car. Management and service excellent. Highly recommend

We have just returned from a wonderful weeks stay at South Pacific Plaza. It is definitely the best place to stay in Broadbeach. We were in a one bedroom Superior very comfortable roomy apartment on the 15th floor and the view was just perfect. So convenient to everything. Beach and a great walking path are directly across the road, Woolworths, shops and lots of cafes and restaurants are a stones throw away. The GLink tram station is very close also, which we used a few times. Staff were extremely helpful and very friendly. I would definitely recommend and we would love to come and stay again.

This was my second stay in 6 months and once again I was very happy. I booked a 2 bedroom superior apartment and got a lovely one on 16th floor with excellent views. The location is excellent with shops and restaurants next door. The staff are very friendly, have already booked my next stay. Looking forward to coming back.

The Best Place to Stay in Broadbeach no question about it. Nothing is better in the area. Staff are very friendly location cannot be better I had the best time ever will definitely stay there again. So good

SPP is in a superb position close to everything. In the past pre-Covid we could request a certain room and management were lovely; coming from New Zealand for three weeks or a month we had always been accommodated with a fantastic apartment with a sea view. So this time despite our very best efforts we come from New Zealand to have a view of buildings and some hills in the background. Apparently it’s the luck of the draw nowadays. In their own words “…9 Sep 2022 The 1 Bedroom Superior apartments start from 1st - 16th level, there are restricted views from the lower levels. Room levels are not confirmed until the day of arrival. We constantly move bookings to accommodate new ones that drop in during the day…”. You’d think if you booked months earlier that you could ask for a certain room. We started asking last year 2022. We could not get the room we wanted despite being flexible with dates. We have come to SPP seven times since 2013 pre-Covid and always had a higher level 03 room with a stunning views. We were very disappointed this time as we had an 05 room with a superb view of the buildings out the back so we kept the blinds shut all day, just a peak of a view of the sea from the kitchen window and the deck. The “large double bed” was a small Queen bed. We wanted either a King or two singles. There were abseilers around our windows and adjoining apartment drilling into the wall for three weeks and always some noisy maintenance drill going off every day without notification as to duration — this was a constant. We are both in our late 70’s and just when I was thinking I’d have a nice nap in the afternoon, the noise would crank up again. I don’t know why they think people should just accept this when we’re paying nearly $2000 a week to hear constant drill noise. The room/booking (by ***********) was misrepresented — no dishwasher, no coffee machine, no pool view. Apparently from the first lady we spoke to, it was our fault for booking through *********** (they really didn’t like them) but if SPP can’t give you a room and *********** can what are you supposed to do? The TV stand was flat pack and fell to bits as it hadn’t been installed properly. There was fluff and dust all over the bedroom ceiling and the first week we were there after moving all our stuff off the surfaces, the floors weren’t vacuumed. The wifi is not secure and we used our pocket wifi at our own expense.

Great apartments in an epic location. It was close to everything we required, outdoor eateries, a shopping mall, Woolworths and transport. The G-Link tram is only a short walk and public buses stop over and the Surf Club has dining and poker machines. There were Sunday markets across the road in the park, and volley ball is played on the beach. It was lovely to sit on the balcony of an evening enjoying the sea breeze and listening to the ocean. Iy was spotlessly clean, Reception was very friendly, and I would have no hisitation in booking it again.

What a wonderful place to stay.We have been going to Broadbeach for a number of years now & have previously stayed elsewhere,but the SPP was amazing. We had a 16th floor one bedroom apartment which was very comfortable.clean & modern. Within minutes of fabulous restaurants & a very short stroll to the beach,it is ideally situated. The pool & grounds are immaculate & the staff very friendly & helpful. This is definately our new holiday "go to".
