Travelodge Bristol Central Mitchell Lane

Plus points; great location to city centre, which is what is needed if having a late night out. No need for taxi's/ubers or any other modes of transport. Staff very friendly and willing to help. The downsides; Lots of building work going on around the hotel, which i know isn't their fault. I didn't sleep at all due to mattress just being on the firmer side for me and sane goes for the pillows. What also contributed to the lack of sleep, was the constant noises. Loud talking, thumping footsteps, doors being slammed rather than respectfully closed quietly. This went on for the WHOLE night. The TV remote didn't operate the TV. Had to do so manually like going back to the 70's. One of the most annoying things, after the noise was the key cards to access the room. I had to go back to reception 3 times to get a new card. They gave me 2 new ones on the third attempt, 1 which worked and 1 that didn't. It seems to be a common issue as several other guests had sane problems. Finally something I noticed in the morning were dried blood stains on the wall below the TV. Grim. At this point, I couldn't say for sure whether I'd go back again.

Asylum hotel on top floors smelly with illegals hanging around outside seems I pay to stay and pay for them as well don’t stay here

Absolutely fantastic staff. Couldn’t be more helpful. The accessible rooms were well done. Had no issues. Very accommodating. 24/7 bar.

I had a wonderful solo stay here in August 2025. The hotel was clean, quiet, and very comfortable. The service was excellent, especially from Aleka at the reception — she was incredibly kind, helpful, and always had a warm smile. She made check-in smooth and even helped me with local recommendations. Her friendly attitude truly made me feel welcome and safe during my stay. The room was cozy and well-maintained, and everything worked perfectly. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to others. Thank you Aleka and the team for such a great experience!
