The setting is private and the views from the kitchen, downstairs bedroom, and upstairs rooms are inspirational. The house has hardwood floors throughout with area rugs. It's heated and cooled with quiet, efficient heat pumps.The kitchen is well-stocked with cookware and dishware--everything you need for home-cooked meals. Outdoors there is a propane grill (equipment provided) and picnic table with umbrella. For your listening enjoyment, there is a record player in the living room and a growing record collection that you are welcome to explore! There's also a ping pong table in the basement to keep the kids (and adults!) happily occupied. The hosts have 3 young kids and are mindful of what families need on vacation. The house is stocked with board games, puzzles, coloring books and supplies, and books for kids of all ages. We can also set up a portable crib on request--just send a note ahead of time. For peace of mind, the whole house is backed up on a generator so you will never lose power or heat even in an outage.Both full bathrooms have optional heat lamps in the ceiling--emerge from your bath or shower into toasty warm comfort. Accessibility: Those with challenges climbing stairs can stay in the bedroom on the ground floor (one queen bed) and have access to the living room, kitchen and dining area, screened porch, and bedroom with attached bathroom without having to navigate stairs. Museum is rich with artifacts and short 15 minute movie of Pemaquid settlement. Fort sports a self guided tour of settlement gives an idea of how daily life was conducted.
