Innit Joy

The property was nice and clean and quite warm. The room itself, Room One was a little small but all your usual amenities were present. The mattress was as soft as you get at any Travelodge that you just sunk into with double set pillows as well. Located in the basement it was fairly quiet. The stairs going down to the basement were a little narrow so if one were a little inebriated they could pose a significant risk and or problem. Room 4 is the one with the balcony and looks quite spacious from the photo within. The location itself is nothing short of ideal. It is literally a 5 minute walk up Cannon Place through the alley and you’re in the main shopping area. Head south and you’re on the beach front an 10-12 mins walk away from the Pier. Parking wasn’t a problem even with Brighton playing at home as Cannon Place is a dedicated Blue Badge area with some none disabled parking spots available. Nevertheless there is a parking garage in the same location.

It is basic, but it's super cheap. I stayed for two nights as a solo trip I took myself on just to relax. I used my room to sleep and shower. Is it run down? Yes it is. But its cleaner than some expensive places I've stayed in over the years. It's quiet. I had the basement room which I thought might feel claustrophobic. But it was fine. As a solo female guest I felt safe and everything was easy from check in to check out. Also it is slap bang in the middle of everything. Short walk to the beach and short walk to the shops and restaurants. Tea and coffee in your room. A TV if like me you don't drink, so was in the room by 8pm watching movies. Fresh towels and a comfy-ish bed. It is what it is. If you pay cheap, don't expect pure luxury.

This is now advertised as INNit Joy. Avoid at all costs. Booked the room you can see in their photos and it looked amazing. How disappointed were we! Whole building is run down. Mould up the stairs and a very dodgy smell. Our room was supposed to be 1st floor, instead we were lumbered with a 3rd floor room with 6 or 7 flights of very narrow, steep stairs. Banister were very wobbly and would not have supported you if needed. This is an accident is waiting to happen. Onto the room. Dirty marks on walls. Filthy windows. Dirty carpets horrible bedding that's completely different to advertised. The shower had a sign on the door saying, water drains slowly so please wait 15 minutes after your 1st shower? ? Place is that bad that we had to check into the nearest travel lodge. This place should be condemned

The room was not spacious. We stayed in room no.8. The building is 199 years old and that's older than floors can stay level. The tilt in room 8 is from East to West (I guess) and it made for a nice sleeping situation, as our feet were slightly higher than our heads. There was no chairs in the room (there wasn't any space for chairs). However, the slope of the floor made it somewhat comfy to just sit on the carpet, leaning against the wall. There was no possibility to get any sound on the TV, so there wasn't any sound of any other TVs coming through the walls or floor either. The bed was super clean and we did sleep very well.

Lovely comfy room with a very cosy bed and pillows, nice balcony with a lovely view, host is very accommodating and friendly and was able to communicate back and forth with him at ease, the location is fantastic, we stayed for a show at the Brighton centre which was a 2 minute walk, but is also centre to everything else! Will be using this hotel for all my Brighton visits on going!

This little place is quirky! Sloping floors and ceilings, but that just adds to its character. We stayed in room 9 which is on the third floor. The stairs are quite steep and narrow, so you have to be careful when lugging a suitcase up! Our room was lovely, a great size, cosy warm, clean with a comfy bed and overlooks a lovely garden square. What more do you need?! Very quiet location when we stayed. It’s certainly not a luxurious room though but we didn’t pay the Earth for it so that’s totally fine, we were more than happy! No breakfast but again, that was ok with us. You get tea/coffee, kettle, iron, ironing board and hairdryer in your room. I suppose the only niggles in our room was the shower which had a sign on saying to wait 15 minutes between showers as it was slow to drain and the toilet seat, which had the coating coming off. Neither bothered us that much though, definitely no biggie! The location is amazing, a short walk down the road and you’re at the seafront, you’re near to The Lanes and the Pier is about a 15 minute walk I suppose. Parking in Brighton is not good at the best of times so having a couple of multi-storey car parks just down the road was a bonus. Expensive though (£28 for the day) but never mind! We met Robert, the owner, when we left and he seemed a really lovely man. We did feel it lacked the personal touch a little, however, as there was nobody to greet us when we arrived, only a door code and make your own way up, but we definitely appreciate nobody can be there 24/7 in a little guest house like this!! We would definitely stay again and would like to thank Robert and his team for all their hard work.
