Ci siamo divertiti la cena in entrambe le notti; bella cena! Siamo stati al Down Inn molte volte e Steve e la squadra forniscono un servizio eccellente e amichevole ogni visita!Grande valore per i soldi; non sognare di rimanere da nessun altro posto quando siamo arrivati da Yorkshire!"

"Stayed here for one night while visiting family. The room was clean and beautifully furnished. As well as a kettle, there was a fridge, microwave and crockery/cutlery. There are lots of places on the doorstep to go to eat or for a drink. With M&S Foodhall and a Co-op just down the road we got a ready meal, made use of the microwave and enjoyed it in the lovely garden courtyard at the property. Communication was great, Kane returned my call promptly when I needed to change our arrival time and was there to advise about parking and show us how the electronic access worked. The bed was comfortable, so we enjoyed a lovely night's sleep and there are loads of good places to get breakfast nearby. We will definitely stay here again."

"The redeeming feature of this guesthouse is the friendly owners and the lovely breakfast provided. Sadly, the location is not suitable for anyone with mobility problems, and is situated next to the steps leading form the lower town to the upper town, making it a very noisy thoroughfare at night. The decor is very depressing and tatty. The guests entrance is located at the back of the property through a very cramped and unkempt space, leading straight onto the steps mentioned earlier. They are sloped, very steep and covered in metal plates, making them treacherous in wet weather. The room we stayed in was large, however it wasn’t a very welcoming. The decor was very tired and there were too many pieces of “old” , mismatched furniture that had been crammed in the space. The photos attached to the review will illustrate the issues we came across. With a bit of a revamp and refresh, the room could be made to be very welcoming and more in keeping with the nightly rate charged. The windows are the original sash windows, but in order to keep them open during warm weather, a block of wood needs to be used to prop them open, which is tied to the radiator by rope. The room smelt very damp on our arrival, and the weather was warm, so we had to keep the windows open, however the noise from passers by during the night was very disturbing. There were plastic cups in the bathroom for guests use, however, the cups had toothpaste runs down the sides as though a previous guest had used them. Yuck! The lighting in the bathroom is extremely dim and the decor a drab grey/lilac, as are the towels. I wish we could give a more favourable review, but this is an honest review of our stay. Many of the issues can easily be rectified, and hopefully this will be used as constructive criticism by the owners, who seem like nice people."

"Lunch out at the country pub. Excellent menu with local ingredients. Spiced cauliflower soup was an absolute delight followed by duck breast. Mediocre pud and slightly slow service but all round a pleasant enough experience. £40 each including non alcoholic drinks."
