The Sunset Motel

Charm and Clean are high at this 2011 revamped motor inn. There's a reason the motor inn/motel endured for as long as it has. It's a good model for those traveling by car. We stayed a night on the way to drop off kids at the nearby Wilds camp outside of Brevard. The property does not have a pool, but for a short trip, we did not notice the absence of one. Showers have windows that appear to be unshaded from the nextdoor property, but office staff assured me they have filmscreen on the outside and all views into the Sunset are obscured. [Would have liked to know this before our stay]. The remodel here was purposeful, well-thought out, and the accommodation, though modest is exactly what was needed. The beds were very comfortable, the chair-height toilet appreciated. Again, stressing the cleanliness. Found this place on TripAdvisor, then saw it was rated #1 in 2023 and #4 in 2024 for motor lodges in the US by USA Today. Could tell we hadn't made a mistake booking here by how very nice the cars (and high-end makes like Tesla and Genesis) that were in the lot when we arrived. Cyclists liked the property. Oh, and we enjoyed the SmartTVs, where Sunset Motel had their own subscriptions to all the streaming that you could want--DIsney+, Netflix, etc

It’s an old school roadside motel. Not nearly as renovated or “hip” as is marketed. It was clean and had all the basics but the rooms are small and the bathroom is straight basics (small sink, shower and toilet) not much else. Next to a busy road, it’s pretty loud. It’s okay for the price- after a “discount” a two queen basic room (called en suite) and a $40 hotel charge , it was $185 out the door. Some say that’s a great rate, but I’m not so sure for a basic motel. Location is great to take in Brevard. But I feel a little a little duped by the great marketing. Not sure I’d stay again.

The office is often unattended for guests. The room was old and smelled like cigarettes. Lamps, curtains, bath and windows need upgrades. Very noisy. No local TV stations available. The beds were comfie but the bathroom needs a serious makeover. There is no place to put your toiletries. The location as awesome and the place had many guests. The heat and AC work great. Awesome idea of a retro motel, just needs more upgrading. The yard is great.

Cute retro motel with 60s style decor. Very clean! Close to town. Enjoyed our stay in the suite located over the office. Full kitchen and separate bedroom. Very reasonable rates. The new owners have done a great job turning this older roadside motel into a hip, clean and reasonably priced accommodation!

We enjoyed our stay at the Sunset Motel but it is located on the Main Street and there is a lot of road noise. I wore earplugs so it did not bother me, but my husband did not like that. Also, the apartment is upstairs and has very steep narrow steps. You do not know this until you are almost done with your booking if doing online. Other than those two things, it was a very cool retro style apartment, very spacious, clean and a 5 minute walk into town.

Sweet place. It is not fancy but so comfy The best.suprise was the back yard Lots of trees hammocks all about a Yoga Deck just serene . Had a great chat with the owner We spent 1 night on this trip.we plan on going back and stay longer on our next road trip. PET FREINDLY TOO

This neat retro hotel caught my eye when looking for a Brevard motel. It has great reviews, so we went for it. The bed was comfy..bathroom pretty small, but we had a little sitting area also. Had issues with the TV, but one of the owners was willing to come check it out and was good with texting me how to fix. Give them a try..pull up to a room and walk right in your room..no slow elevators to wait on!

Simple, no frills, but does the job. My husband didn’t care for it, said he felt like we were going to be in a horror film getting hacked up, oh the drama. It’s a cute old roadside motel. Clean, has the basics of what we need, within walking distance to the amazing downtown of Brevard. I would stay here again…without my drama king.

The room was dirty. Stepped in dog poop on arrival. The room smelled like urine. The bed was uncomfortable. There was no staff at the office the entire time. Customer service non existent. The cleaning people circled around my room as I was packing up to go, at 7am . They did not even acknowledge me at all. No “good morning “ nothing. I would never ever stay there again. Disgusting.
