Hotel Stadt Breisach

This hotel should be closed: poor customer service at reception, dirty rooms and extremely dirty bathrooms, many things are broken, spider webs in the restaurant, dirty windows which were not cleaned since years, the restaurant smells after old fat, furniture is third or fourth hand and worn down. The positives: staff in restaurant is friendly and responsive, the location is great.

My wife and I had made reservations for a three night package at the Hotel Stadt Breisach in the Black Forest over Christmas 2023. A big disappointment. Check in went smoothly and we were told at reception that for the Christmas Eve Gala Dinner we had to be seated punctually at 6:30. We went for drinks in the bar at 5 p.m. and then went to the restaurant for our dinner. Both were good. Next morning (Christmas Day) we went to find out where lunch would be served, which we were prepared to pay for as it was not included in the package, only to find that there was no lunch served, the bar did not open until 5:pm and was only open from Thursday to Monday. The hotel did not offer lunch but coffee and cake would be available from 2 p.m. And that was it. We had unknowingly reserved a stay at a hotel that served no more than one slice of cake and a cup of coffee between breakfast and dinner. That evening dinner was OK but nothing to write home about: salmon fillet served on a mountain of spinach, and tagliatella. Next day I asked my wife if she would prefer to cut our stay short and head for home right away. Her face lit up and “Yes please” was her answer. On our way to breakfast I stopped off at Reception to cancel our remaining day. We had packed before breakfast so it wasn’t long before we were on our way back to Luxembourg. We stopped for lunch at our favourite Tandoori restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed it. After we arrived home I went on to the hotel’s website but no mention was made of the bar only opening in the evening and being closed two days a week, nor that there would be no lunch served on the days we were booked in. Had there been we would have quickly moved on to other hotels before we made our reservation. All in all, a big disappointment

L'hôtel est bien situé en haut la ville (10 min. de marche). Il méritera bientôt une rénovation. Personnel de réception OK mais au restaurant, bof ! Les chambres sont correctes sans mini-bar, propreté et linge propre mais chambres faites tous les 2 jours. A 1 km à vol d'oiseau de la France, aucun poste TV en français. La demi-pension est très quelconque (mais PD très bien). SPA bien et propre mais... payant

Wir waren nur für einen Kurzaufenthalt dort für 3 Nächte, vor allem das Essen war sehr lecker, auch das Buffet am Morgen super mit sehr viel Auswahl. Zimmer ordentlich, sicher nicht der modernste Stil aber für uns tipptopp mit Aussicht auf den Rhein. Wellnessanlage ist noch ziemlich neu und schön, auch der Pool recht gross mit div. Liege/Sitzmöglichkeiten ringsum. Wir fühlten uns gut aufgehoben.

Un hôtel de bonne qualité ! Perché sur le haut d’un rocher, avec une vue sur le Rhin, l’emplacement est agréable. Pour ce qui est de la ville, les activités ne sont pas nombreuses, mais l’hôtel offre des billets de trains pour ce déplacer dans la région gratuitement ! La chambre était spacieuse, d’un style légèrement ancien, mais avec un équipement largement suffisant. Les lits sont très agréable, la salle de bain est spacieuse disposant d’une baignoire. L’espace spa est sympa mais la piscine est légèrement froide. Là températures ambiantes également. L’espace sauna reste très sympa et permet de ce reposer convenablement. La restauration est très bonne également avec une attente légèrement longue parfois entre les différents plats. Le déjeuner et copieux et très bon. Je conseil cet hôtel !

Eigentlich hatten wir ein Komfortzimmer gebucht. Aber wenn das Komfort ist dann möchte ich Standard mal sehen. Wir haben nachgefragt ob die Kategorie evtl vertauscht wurde. Nein diese abgegewohnten Möbel in diesem kleinen verstaubten Zimmer sind Komfort. Bad sehr klein. Auch nicht sauber. Zum Teil fehlen die Fugen. Duschen in der Wanne fast unmöglich ohne das Bad zu überschwemmen. Der Abluss ließ sich nicht öffnen da die ganze Vorrichtung kaputt war. Wasserhahn war so alt dass kein Chrom mehr dran war. So ein abgewohntes Zimmer hatten wir noch nie. Frühstück war gut, Abendessen sehr gut. Tag und Nacht hörte man ein Brummen das vom Schwimmbad kam. Diese Beschwerde wurde überhaupt nicht ernst genommen. Baulärm gab es noch dazu. Preis Leistung stimmt nicht. Viel zu teuer.
