Mijn man en ik keken uit naar een weekendje Breda. De kinderen eindelijk groter en de maatregelen rond covid waren eindelijk gaan luwen. Alles werd officieel bevestigd via een e-mail van het hotel. De boeking stond vast, 1 overnachting in jullie hotel met bijhorend etentje. Aangekomen in jullie hotel was er blijkbaar geen weet van onze komst. Eerst wouden ze de schuld in onze schoenen schuiven maar ze excuseerden zich snel wanneer we hen de bevestigingsmail van het hotel toonden. Ze toverden alsnog een vrije kamer voor ons, en dit tijdens het carnavalsweekend van Breda. Dit wisten wij niet (komende uit België). Toen we onze reservatie wouden maken voor ons diner, kregen we als antwoord, dat het restaurant was gesloten, wegens personeelstekort. Bij het lezen van oudere beoordelingen is dit een probleem dat er al enkele maanden heerst en nog steeds niet is opgelost, triestig voor zo een groot hotelketen. We konden wel ”carnaval take away” laten bezorgen op de kamer maar hadden ons wel iets anders voorgesteld bij een diner. We stelden voor, dat we zouden eten in de stad en de rekening zouden binnenbrengen, daar zouden we een maaltijd nuttigen binnen een normaal budget, dit voorstel werd geweigerd. De kok van het hotel kwam ons tegemoet en zou voor ons die avond koken, dit vonden we zeer fijn. Helaas kregen we gefrituurde kippenbouten en het hoofdgerecht op nog geen 30 minuten voorgeschoteld. Het moest snel gaan. De hoofdschotel was zeer teleurstellend. Schnitzel of zalm met wat gekookte boontjes en frieten. We konden ook geen wijntje bestellen aangezien de manager de alcoholische dranken achter slot en grendel had gezet. We mochten onze eigen fles wijn mee aan tafel nemen. We hebben elk 1 glas frisdrank genomen en daar werd schaamteloos een bedrag in rekening gebracht, die wij weigerden te betalen na alles wat er al misgelopen was. Hierdoor was het zaalpersoneel misnoegd. De manager was niet bereikbaar toen we hiernaar vroegen. We hebben genoten van de stad Beda, maar het verblijf eindigde in mineur. Het hotel had ons kunnen verwittigen dat het restaurant gesloten was. Het hotel kwam hierdoor heel onprofessioneel over.

I have had the most wonderful experience within you breakfast area with your breakfast chec Daniella. I have been to lots of hotels and for me the breakfast experience counts most. I asked Daniella to assist me with making egg mixed with mushrooms and some fresh chillies. Without any hesitation whe made sure to find what I needed without any effort by looking within your kitchen area. She made me feel welcoming and made sure I have what I need. I asked for a hot sauce as well and she made that possible as well. The reason why I say this that from the few van der valk hotels I have stayed has not made the effort at breakfast to make my needs feel as important as the stay. So I would like to tanks Daniella from the bottom of my heart for making this possible and going the extra mile for a avid van der valk customer. Will definitely come back because of her.

I booked this hotel again as we’ve liked it on previous trips for the Efteling. On this occasion we found the room to be very good with comfy beds, nice bedding, clean and stylish. What I would wish for at this price is some tea and coffee making facilities. It is ridiculous to have to go to the reception and buy coffee when you’ve paid quite a lot for the hotel. In the evening we ate in the hotel as a large group made up of 3 families. The food was excellent however when we came to pay we were very surprised that we could not split the bill. The bill was €200 so obviously no one wants to pay for all of that! We wanted to make one payment per family ie 3 payments to clear the bill. The staff member said we had to make only one payment in total because we had all sat together. She was a bit rude and we all found this very odd.

UUtente ospiteThe hotel is located in a beautifully renovated building in the center of Breda. Stylish with many authentic elements but with a modern twist. If you come by car, you can choose the Valet service or park your car in the practically nearby parking De Barones yourself. The parking garage has several charging stations for electric cars. We arrived at the restaurant side of the hotel looking for the entrance. An attentive employee saw us and asked if we were looking for the hotel. He took over our suitcase and escorted us to the front desk to check-in. See, now that's hospitality. The ladies at the front desk were also very friendly and welcomed me as a Platinum member with a nice room upgrade. My room on the 5th floor was very spacious — lovely big bed, separate toilet, spacious bathroom with separate bath and walk-in shower. Besides a bottle of Holy water, there is also a Nespresso machine for a cup of coffee. Too bad the bar was closed in the evening, and we had to go out for drinks. They served breakfast in the former chapel. Found that space is somewhat claustrophobic as you are locked in and can't see outside.

Locatie is prima. Gratis parkeren voor de deur. Personeel is vriendelijk. Door de verbouwing momenteel geen room service en een ontzettend beperkte kaart in het restaurant. Ze vragen 100 euro borg bij het inchecken van een suite, dit zorgt voor oponthoud en geeft een vreemde smaak aan het verblijf aangezien ze bij het uitchecken eerst de kamer gaan controleren en je moet wachten.

UUtente ospiteNice hotel close to the centre of Breda. 15 minutes walk from the train station through the park. 5 minutes walk from the Grote Markt and numerous bars, restaurants and shopping. The room was of a good size and the super kingsize bed was very comfortable however the pillows were soft. We had a superior room on the 4th floor at the back of the hotel so the room was very quiet and looked over some lowrise apatrtments. The bathroom was a good size with a bathtub and shower. The water was always hot. We didn't eat in the hotel but we used the bar a few times. It was reasonably priced compared to the bars in the centre of town. All the staff we met were friendly, professional and courteous. We would stay in this hotel again and would recommend it to friends and family.

UUtente ospiteHotel situato in posizione strategica, è praticamente dentro la stazione (ma non ci sono rumori fastidiosi) e a meno di 5 minuti a piedi dal bellissimo centro storico. Ho avuto un upgrade e la camera era molto bella, pulita e spaziosa. La pecca è che la matrimoniale ha due singoli uniti (anche lenzuola e coperte erano da letto singolo) e i cuscini per niente comodi. La colazione continentale buona e abbondante.

UUtente ospiteDal titolo tutto un programma: Check in Assurdo io sono stato gia' 3/4 volte in questo hotel e tutte le volte ci vuole 30 minuti per farti dare le chiavi della camera. Camera sporca a partire dal comodino al lenzuolo. In bagno lo scopino del wc non e' presente e immagino le cameriere della mattina non sia piacevole pulire il bagno. Quando ho fatto il check in mi e' stato dato un orario di colazione non prima delle 8 di mattina perche' prima a detta loro era al completo.. ma se e' un viaggio di lavoro la colazione non e' a mio piacimento . insomma tutto pessimo da rivedere tutta l'organizzazione.

Buon hotel comodo soprattutto per chi viaggia, in quanto situato nei pressi dell'autostrada, con cui si raggiunge velocemente Rotterdam, Den Haag , Tilburg e altre città olandesi. E' invece un pò distante dal centro della graziosa città di Breda, a circa 15 minuti di auto. L' hotel è pulito, le stanze non molto grandi ma confortevoli, il personale cortese. Dispone di bar e ristorante dove viene servita la colazione , ma non posso giudicare questi servizi perchè non li ho utilizzati. Disponibile il parcheggio gratuito per i clienti. Dovendo soggiornare per tre giorni a Breda, ho scelto questo hotel per il prezzo decisamente più favorevole rispetto agli hotel del centro e non ho trovato pecche significative da segnalare. Ci tornerei.

Het hotel had ons kunnen verwittigen dat het restaurant gesloten was. Het hotel kwam hierdoor heel onprofessioneel over.

Camera piuttosto pulita, ho passato un taglio di cotone alcolizzato sulle barre del letto della nostra ragazza, era pulito, e le mani della camera da bagno e il pavimento della camera da bagno. Piacere sorpresa. Per me, qualità prezzo corretto. Solo che il profumo della lavastoviglie è insopportabile forte e dà la bassa impressione di gamma.
