Lovely hotel in beautiful countryside with a stunning view from our room. Very convenient for a visit to Chatsworth House, which is only about 10 minutes drive away. Friendly and helpful staff with a nice restaurant attached.

It was ok I've stayed in much better for the Money. Only one towel between two of us shower gel was coming out of dispenser in very small amounts. We had to pay early check in fee for less than two hours early we were on top floor and as we traipsed around to out room we saw no one cleaning any rooms. There were a few poor areas in the bathroom with missing silicone and a stain on the floor.

Stayed here for 1 night whilst attending a family wedding at Chatsworth. We arranged an early check in and Katrina on reception was so welcoming and friendly. She organised a room for us so that we could get changed and organised for the wedding. Room was really clean and comfortable. Plenty of tea and coffee available. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting this beautiful area. Especially as it’s incredible value in comparison to other hotels in the area.

The hotel was originally a Premier Inn, and has been taken over by Chatsworth, with plans to renovate it. The room we had was good. The breakfasts were good, and evening meals were OK, but just traditional pub fayre. Staff friendly. Reception needs to be signposted better, but I guess that will be all part of the refurbushment.

In the middle of nowhere - very run down - staff lovely but the place was very bleek No ambience in the restaurant - lacking soul but staff great Just lacking any kind of welcome/ excitement Garfen patio needed weeding - no plants - in desperate need of a paint

Booked an overnight stay at The Highwayman for my Mum's 82nd birthday (she was born & raised in Chesterfield) with a meal for 15 family members in the hotel's restaurant. Absolutely lovely stay. Katrina, the lady on reception was so chatty, cheerful and helpful. And the restaurant staff were wonderful, the food was delicious and everyone had a great time. Lovely clean rooms and facilities. Two big thumbs up.

We’ve just stayed here for 2 nights for our anniversary & we loved every minute of it, the hotel & staff were amazing, so helpful, my wife had mentioned when she was booking that it was our anniversary and on arrival in our room we had a box of chocolates and a card. It’s the little things that make a massive difference. The restaurants was amazing & the breakfast had lots variety and was high quality. Thanks so much xx Neil & Samantha Larkin

We visited the restaurant here for a family birthday celebration. We had a lovely meal which catered for all tastes and was good value. Our waiter Kyle deserves a special mention for being very friendly, accommodating and keen to ensure that we were happy with everything and we enjoyed our meal. This venue is now apparently owned by Chatsworth and they are keen to continue to make improvements but keep within a reasonable price range. All in all we enjoyed our meal and a friendly welcoming experience.

The location for the Peaks is fantastic and it’s more affordable than staying in the Peaks itself. We stayed as a family of four and have stayed here before prior to its rebrand but it could do with a bit of TLC. The lady on the front desk was very friendly and also engaged with our young children which was nice. There is a bar/restaurant connected to the hotel, where we had a drink, but we didn’t eat there. Free parking and a less than one minute drive into the Peaks - brilliant for what we wanted.
