Summer bon fires are the best, friends, s’mores and sky above filled with mesmerizing stars that seem reachable, a site you’ll remember. For the adventurous you’ll find the best hiking for all levels from as close as 10 minutes away. Zoom Flume water park is 10 minutes away. 15 minutes to horseback riding, golf, lake swimming and many other activities. Paddle boarding and kayak rentals are also close by or if you prefer don’t leave at all. Most of our guests come with plans and end up never leaving - that’s how wonderful this setting is.Welcoming and comfortable your family and friends will be in awe before you hit the driveway. You’ll find the space wide open with plenty ‘personal space’, the open floor plan and outdoor space (covered porch creates additional 1400 sf entertaining space) grants you all plenty personal room so no reason to be on top of each other. You can’t get away from the mind blowing view, the mountains stare at you from every window. Two large rooms in lower level currently used for sleeping and quiet office space. Each room has a queen bed and a trundle bed. Infant/toddler‘s welcome but we do not provide crib or pack and play. High-quality linens, cozy comforters, extra pillows and towels are provided as is shampoo/conditioner and body gel. We consider our dogs part of our family and expect you do too, so with prior approval we consider well behaved, potty trained fur babies. Oversized therapeutic memory foam dog bed as well as dog bowl offered. If allowed there will be a $100 fee and pet must be leashed at all times and crated when unattended. This is the perfect place to get away, to be alone or with family and friends, to reflect, write, or simply regain your sanity. The house is at the end of a mile long dirt road, deep in the countryside, with high-speed internet and lots of privacy. Minutes from the Rensselaerville Falls and hiking trails of the E.N. Huyck Preserve. Dating from the early 19th century, Hickory Hill is country estate and working farm set in the rolling Catskills of upstate New York, 35 minutes west of Albany. There are sweeping lawns, walking trails over 250 acres of woodland, ponds for boating and swimming and a clay tennis court. And high-speed internet when you need to stay connected.Guests stay in the newer Guest Wing, also in traditional design, with four rooms, two with en suite bath, two with a large shared bath, with full use of a spacious live-in kitchen. There is also an additional South Bedroom Suite in the Family wing that sleeps up to four more. The gracious dining room easily seats 8-10 people, with 12 possible.Our "Base Price" for this listing is for the entire guest wing, with a private entrance. The space accommodates up to 8 adults plus two children (in a second old-fashioned double).Pets are welcome by special arrangement. Hosts are fluent in English, German and French.Guest access includes:Spacious country kitchen, dining room and terrace. Garden seating, hammock and outdoor grill.
